This book was released on 2018-10-22 with total page 40 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A hybrid Finite Element Method (FEM)/Method of Moments (MoM) technique in conjunction with the Asymptotic Waveform Evaluation (AWE) technique is applied to obtain radar cross section (RCS) of a cavity-backed aperture in an infinite ground plane over a frequency range. The hybrid FEM/MoM technique when applied to the cavity-backed aperture results in an integro-differential equation with electric field as the unknown variable, the electric field obtained from the solution of the integro-differential equation is expanded in Taylor series. The coefficients of the Taylor series are obtained using the frequency derivatives of the integro-differential equation formed by the hybrid FEM/MoM technique. The series is then matched via the Pade approximation to a rational polynomial, which can be used to extrapolate the electric field over a frequency range. The RCS of the cavity-backed aperture is calculated using the electric field at different frequencies. Numerical results for a rectangular cavity, a circular cavity, and a material filled cavity are presented over a frequency range. Good agreement between AWE and the exact solution over the frequency range is obtained. Reddy, C.J. and Deshpande, M.D. Langley Research Center NCC1-231; RTOP-522-11-41-02...

Book Synopsis Theory and Computation of Electromagnetic Fields by : Jian-Ming Jin
Download or read book Theory and Computation of Electromagnetic Fields written by Jian-Ming Jin and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2015-08-10 with total page 744 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Reviews the fundamental concepts behind the theory and computation of electromagnetic fields The book is divided in two parts. The first part covers both fundamental theories (such as vector analysis, Maxwell’s equations, boundary condition, and transmission line theory) and advanced topics (such as wave transformation, addition theorems, and fields in layered media) in order to benefit students at all levels. The second part of the book covers the major computational methods for numerical analysis of electromagnetic fields for engineering applications. These methods include the three fundamental approaches for numerical analysis of electromagnetic fields: the finite difference method (the finite difference time-domain method in particular), the finite element method, and the integral equation-based moment method. The second part also examines fast algorithms for solving integral equations and hybrid techniques that combine different numerical methods to seek more efficient solutions of complicated electromagnetic problems. Theory and Computation of Electromagnetic Fields, Second Edition: Provides the foundation necessary for graduate students to learn and understand more advanced topics Discusses electromagnetic analysis in rectangular, cylindrical and spherical coordinates Covers computational electromagnetics in both frequency and time domains Includes new and updated homework problems and examples Theory and Computation of Electromagnetic Fields, Second Edition is written for advanced undergraduate and graduate level electrical engineering students. This book can also be used as a reference for professional engineers interested in learning about analysis and computation skills.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Gronwall type integral inequalities of one variable for real functions play a very important role in the Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations. The main aim of the present research monograph is to present some natural applications of Gronwall inequalities with non-linear kernels of Lipschitz type of the problems of boundedness and convergence to zero at infinity of the solutions of certain Volterra integral equations. Stability, uniform stability, uniform asymptotic stability and global asymptotic stability properties for trivial solution of certain differential system of equations are also investigated. Contents: Preface; Integral Inequalities of Gronwall Type; Inequalities for Kernels of (L)-Type; Applications to Integral Equations; Applications to Differential Equations; Index.

Book Synopsis Model Based Parameter Estimation by : Hans Georg Bock
Download or read book Model Based Parameter Estimation written by Hans Georg Bock and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-02-26 with total page 342 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This judicious selection of articles combines mathematical and numerical methods to apply parameter estimation and optimum experimental design in a range of contexts. These include fields as diverse as biology, medicine, chemistry, environmental physics, image processing and computer vision. The material chosen was presented at a multidisciplinary workshop on parameter estimation held in 2009 in Heidelberg. The contributions show how indispensable efficient methods of applied mathematics and computer-based modeling can be to enhancing the quality of interdisciplinary research. The use of scientific computing to model, simulate, and optimize complex processes has become a standard methodology in many scientific fields, as well as in industry. Demonstrating that the use of state-of-the-art optimization techniques in a number of research areas has much potential for improvement, this book provides advanced numerical methods and the very latest results for the applications under consideration.

Book Synopsis Boundary Value Problems of Mathematical Physics by : Ivar Stakgold
Download or read book Boundary Value Problems of Mathematical Physics written by Ivar Stakgold and published by SIAM. This book was released on 2000-06-30 with total page 1156 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For more than 30 years, this two-volume set has helped prepare graduate students to use partial differential equations and integral equations to handle significant problems arising in applied mathematics, engineering, and the physical sciences. Originally published in 1967, this graduate-level introduction is devoted to the mathematics needed for the modern approach to boundary value problems using Green's functions and using eigenvalue expansions. Now a part of SIAM's Classics series, these volumes contain a large number of concrete, interesting examples of boundary value problems for partial differential equations that cover a variety of applications that are still relevant today. For example, there is substantial treatment of the Helmholtz equation and scattering theory?subjects that play a central role in contemporary inverse problems in acoustics and electromagnetic theory.
