Now, in addition, it should be able to adapt to the frequent changes driven by globalization, let us say, be agile. This business agility has become more important in these times of globalization. The organization that best respond to the fast-changing market, which is becoming increasingly frequent, will have better competitive advantages than those that fail to sustain the pace imposed by globalization.

Book Synopsis Business Process Maturity by : Amy Van Looy
Download or read book Business Process Maturity written by Amy Van Looy and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2014-01-27 with total page 98 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Organisations face many challenges, which induce them to perform better, and thus to establish mature (or excellent) business processes. As they now face globalisation, higher competitiveness, demanding customers, growing IT possibilities, compliancy rules etc., business process maturity models (BPMMs) have been introduced to help organisations gradually assess and improve their business processes (e.g. CMMI or OMG-BPMM). In fact, there are now so many BPMMs to choose from that organisations risk selecting one that does not fit their needs or one of substandard quality. This book presents a study that distinguishes process management from process orientation so as to arrive at a common understanding. It also includes a classification study to identify the capability areas and maturity types of 69 existing BPMMs, in order to strengthen the basis of available BPMMs. Lastly it presents a selection study to identify criteria for choosing one BPMM from the broad selection, which produced a free online selection tool, BPMM Smart-Selector.

Book Synopsis Dynamic Business Process Management in the Knowledge Economy by : Marek Szelągowski
Download or read book Dynamic Business Process Management in the Knowledge Economy written by Marek Szelągowski and published by Springer. This book was released on 2019-06-21 with total page 213 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book describes modern dynamic business process management (dynamic BPM), which is considerably different from traditional BPM from 20, 10, or even 5 years ago. It demonstrates why traditional BPM is not sufficient in the knowledge economy (KE), while also highlighting the opportunities provided by dynamic BPM – the form of management that practitioners and academics deal with on a daily basis. This involves mastering and implementing e.g. case management, process mining, and RPA, and integrating them with knowledge management. But more importantly, dynamic BPM makes full use of the dynamism of knowledge workers: the people who actually create innovative products and services tailored to the specific needs of clients. The book was primarily written for those managers who see advantageous opportunities amidst the ongoing changes. Accordingly, it focuses more on innovations emerging from practice than on theoretical, academic reflection. In addition to helping organizations operating in the KE to prepare for and implement process management, the book is intended as a source of inspiration for process management researchers and iBPMS system vendors.

Download or read book Becoming the Iceman written by Wim Hof and published by Hillcrest Publishing Group. This book was released on 2011-11 with total page 327 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Becoming the Iceman is a project inspired by Wim and Justin to show the world that anyone can adopt the ability to become an Iceman or Icewoman. The project's goal is to show that the ability to control the body's temperature is not a genetic defect in Wim, but an ability that can be adopted by everyone. For many generations, we have been taught to fear the cold: "Don't forget your jacket You don't want hypothermia, do you?""Put your gloves on before you get frostbite "Of course, these are consequences of extreme cold exposure, but with the proper understanding, anyone can learn to use the cold as a natural teacher. You may have seen Wim Hof on television running barefoot through the snow or swimming in ice-cold waters. While performing those incredible feats, Wim remained completely warm and comfortable the entire time Wim is the epitome of what can happen if someone uses the cold to train the body. Like any new tool, you must understand how it works before you can use it efficiently. This pertains to the cold as well. You may be wondering, "How can you prove that anyone can learn this ability?Well, as of Fall 2009, Justin Rosales had no experience with the cold whatsoever. He was a college student attending Penn State University. After Justin's friend, Jarrett, showed him one of Wim's videos on You-Tube, he became exceedingly interested in understanding this ability. He wanted to see if it was possible for anyone to learn. In Spring 2010, after speaking to Wim for several months via email, Wim invited Justin to attend his workshop in Poland. After many weeks of working as a dishwasher, Justin was able to pay for the trip and learn the technique of the Iceman. With more training and countless experiences with the cold, Justin began to slowly adapt. The length of time he could remain exposed increased dramatically. He quickly realized that the technique to withstand the cold was, indeed, an ability that could be learned by everyone. This book tells the tale of Wim and Justin's journey to Becoming the Iceman
