Book Synopsis Antropologías del cristianismo by : Esteban, Rozo
Download or read book Antropologías del cristianismo written by Esteban, Rozo and published by Editorial Universidad del Rosario. This book was released on 2022-10-30 with total page 355 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Antropología Cristiana y Ciencias de la Salud Mental written by and published by Dykinson. This book was released on with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Download or read book Historia de la antropología cristiana written by Jesús Fernández González and published by Editorial CLIE. This book was released on 2017-06-01 with total page 985 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book On Knowing Humanity written by Eloise Meneses and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2017-07-14 with total page 374 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The development of a phenomenological approach to religion and the rise of perspectivism are challenging anthropology’s exclusive rootedness in the ontology of secularism. When considered with the increased interest in the anthropology of religion as an area of study, it is clear that there is a growing need for non-reductionist representations of Christian thought and experience in ethnography. This volume is intended as a critique of anthropology’s epistemological and ontological assumptions and a demonstration of the value added by an expanded set of parameters for the field. The book’s core argument is that while ethnographers have allowed their own perspectives to be positively influenced by the perspectives of their informants, until recently anthropology has done little in the way of adopting these other viewpoints as critical tools for analysis precisely because it has represented those viewpoints from a limited epistemological perspective. With chapters organized around topics in epistemology and ontology written by scholars of anthropology, theology and history, and an afterword by Joel Robbins, the book is essential reading for scholars of the anthropology of religion as well as other philosophically-oriented social scientists, theologians and those who are interested in gaining further insight into the human condition.

Book Synopsis Christianity in the Modern World by : Dr Elijah Obinna
Download or read book Christianity in the Modern World written by Dr Elijah Obinna and published by Ashgate Publishing, Ltd.. This book was released on 2014-10-28 with total page 209 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What is the state of Christianity today, and what might it look like in the future? In the West, the story for a long time has revolved around decline and the loss of monopoly status, but how are these shifts changing the practice of Christianity or individual belief? Similarly, the rapid growth of Christianities in the Global South has been well reported, but the continuing complex intersections of mission Christianity with indigenous religions are less well known. Large-scale flows of people across increasingly fluid borders mean that not only does immigration sometimes significantly boost Christian numbers in a given country, but that different forms of Christianity shift traditional religious landscapes. How will emerging trends such as 'reverse mission' from the Global South affect Christianities in areas more used to sending rather than receiving missions? As the majority of believers shifts from the West to the Global South, how will issues such as homosexuality be played out theologically, politically and individually? Will new virtual churches manage to create viable long-term communities? How does new festival Christianity function in the religious life of an individual? The divergent and oftentimes contradictory state of Christianity in the modern world fuels questions about its place and future in the world: in politics, education and healthcare. This book brings together cutting edge research on the most recent changes and trends in Christianity worldwide. Contributors drawn from the USA, UK and Europe, Africa and East Asia offer an invaluable breadth of coverage, expertise and disciplinary perspective at the intersections between sociology of religion, theology, politics, education and human geography.
