Book excerpt: Excerpt from Report of the Board of Stock Commissioners of Montana Territory; Report of the Veterinary Surgeon of Montana Ter.; Annual Report of the Recorder of Marks and Brands of Montana Territory, for the Year 1887 It is a gratifying fact to report to you that the Operations of the law under which we act and the results attained by the Board in protecting the live stock interests of this Territory have been closely watched by the stockmen of Wyoming during the past two years and that they became so thoroughly convinced of the great results to be secured by such a law that they had their Legislature this past winter pass a law similar in scope to the one under which we act. The Board has recently been appointed and organized and the stockmen of Wyoming look for as good results in their Territory as have been attained in this. The adoption of this law in Wyoming is all the more gratifying when it is known that there has existed during the past sixteen years an exceedingly powerful and useful Stock Grower's Association. In Closing, the Board wishes to state that they are fully satisfied that the efficiency already attained in their Operations can be still further in creased and that a better understanding of the operations of the law by stockmen and the Officers selected to enforce it will do much to bring about the result.
