Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Great are the works of the Lord; They are studied by all who delight in them" (Psalm 111:2, NASB). When treating the life of Moses the psalmist wrote: "The Lord remembered His promise given to his servant Abraham, and brought His people out of Egypt with rejoicing, His chosen ones with shouts of joy. He also gave them the lands of the nations, that they might take possession of the fruit of other people's labor ..." (Psalm 105:42-44) The story of the Exodus is an intriguing one. Moses first attempted to help his people without God's call, expecting success as a result of his own ability. In the end he never undertook anything without God's guidance, and it is no wonder that He is linked with Samuel as an example of the power of intercessory prayer (Jeremiah 15:1). As to Moses' character, the only strong personal trait which we are able to glean from the biblical text comes from Numbers 12:3, where the word "meek" should be rendered "much enduring, or strength under control," for he persevered through extremely difficult, trying circumstances. It is no wonder, therefore, that after performing the task the Lord had given him, he became known as a man of enduring faith (cf. Hebrews 11:24-29).

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Most of us are regular people who have good days and bad days. Our lives are radically ordinary and unexciting. That means they're the kind of lives God gets excited about. While the world worships beauty and power and wealth, God hides his glory in the simple, the mundane, the foolish, working in unawesome people, things, and places. In our day of celebrity worship and online posturing, this is a refreshing, even transformative way of understanding God and our place in his creation. It urges us to treasure a life of simplicity, to love those whom the world passes by, to work for God's glory rather than our own. And it demonstrates that God has always been the Lord of the cross--a Savior who hides his grace in unattractive, inglorious places.Your God Is Too Glorious reminds readers that while a quiet life may look unimpressive to the world, it's the regular, everyday people that God tends to use to do his most important work.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What Does the Bible Teach about How to Live in Today's World? How should Christians live when the surrounding culture is increasingly hostile to Christian moral values? Granted, the Bible is our guide—but how can we know if we are interpreting it rightly with regard to ethical questions about wealth and poverty, marriage and divorce, birth control, abortion, euthanasia, homosexuality, ethical business practices, environmental stewardship, and dozens of other issues? And on a very practical level, how can we know God's will in the ordinary decisions of life? To address questions like these, Wayne Grudem, author of the bestselling book Systematic Theology, draws on 40 years of teaching classes in ethics to write this wide-ranging introduction to biblical moral reasoning, organized according to the structure of the Ten Commandments. He issues a challenging call for Christians to live lives of personal holiness and offers a vision of the Christian life that is full of joy and blessing through living each day in a way that is pleasing to God. Written by Wayne Grudem: Bestselling author of Systematic Theology and the What the Bible Says About series Biblical and Applicable: Teaches readers how to protect 7 central tenets of God's law: God's honor, human authority, life, marriage, property, truth, and purity of heart Accessible: An ideal textbook for Christian college and seminary ethics classes, with straightforward language and a bibliography for the topic at the end of each chapter Replaces ISBN 978-1-4335-4965-6

In this book, Miriam seeks biblical answers to important questions. What happens when we die? Does God torment people forever? What is the ultimate destiny of humanity? What is the Kingdom of God, and how do we enter it? Where and when does it take place? What is the gospel? She also explores some amazing biblical patterns that all point to the Messiah, such as the Feasts of the Lord, the elements of the Tabernacle, and even the seven churches of Revelation.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book raises many interrelated important issues in life and tries to clarify the spiritual facts and to tie the loose ends, according to the wisdom of Divine Love. The good news about Lord Christ Jesus being a vegan (a strict vegetarian), for Biblical reasons is expounded in this book so all nations can immediately convert to the Christian vegan religion of heaven; for the sake of God's Justice that must be served on earth. The book indeed is a must read for all people because the entire creation including mankind has only one Savior to understand, obey, learn from and follow in order to do God's will, to be justified of sins and to see the Kingdom of God in righteousness. Since science also belongs to Christianity and this true faith is about universal redemption, the pages of this book discuss in detail the interests, the well-beings and the freedom of all creatures. The main points discussed in here, from the Christian vegan perspectives are: why mankind should live to honor God, about the universally abiding laws given us by the supreme Creator, the Christian justice, the importance of Church unity, nutrition, balanced diet and related issues. The pages loudly echo the spirituality of animals and the normal feelings of all that live; encouraging mankind to choose environmentally friendly products and services instead of animal products or animal services. Every violent sport and entertainment that involves animals is denounced together with the modern day idolatry and animal slavery; urging God fearing people to actively love and defend all animals and the universe in the Holy Name of Christ Jesus now and always. The goal of the book is to help the entire human race grasp the urgency of the animal right issue so all can repent together, start to pray unceasingly, watch and work in order to heal the damaged environments spiritually also work to restore world peace, order, equality among the earthly dwellers and lasting harmony. This book is indispensable for Bible scholars also for all God fearing people; it is animal friendly and can easily be used as a reference book or to instruct kids and adults in the non-violence principles of Christianity.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Here are approximately 200 excerpts from across the whole Bible, newly translated and provided with brief expositions, intended to introduce beginners to the significance of the whole biblical narrative, the richness of the poetry and the meanings which emerge from an attentive reading with the eyes of faith. The author, John Eaton, devoted his life to understanding the Hebrew Bible in its original language. This simple introduction reflects not only Eaton's linguistic and historical expertise but also his insight into the way modern critical reconstructions can facilitate the reclamation of New Testament perspectives on the foreshadowing of Christ in what became, for Christians, the Old Testament. Christ is at the heart of this work, for, daring to move from his specialist terrain, Eaton takes on the New Testament as well as the Old, selecting and translating key passages from the Gospels, and then other New Testament writings which illuminate the way of faith through Jesus Christ. So this book demonstrates the unity of the Bible, and how it may be read as Christian Scripture in a post-modern era marked by the biblical criticism of the modern period. COMMENDATIONS "John Eaton was both a biblical scholar (known especially for his work on the Psalms) and a man of profound biblical faith. A Lantern to My Feet, his last book - he died in 2007 - reflects this rare combination. This memorial to his life's work is set to become a classic of biblical spirituality." - John Healey, University of Manchester, UK "A Lantern to My Feet is what you get when a good man, a faithful Christian and an Old Testament scholar writes his last book about the Bible - an inspiring legacy from faith and for faith. Read it from beginning to end or dip in anywhere and enjoy." - Stephen Dawes, Canon Theologian of Truro Cathedral, UK "The book will serve as a wonderful resource for meditative reading." - Sebastian Brock, the University of Oxford, UK
