Read on your PC, Mac, smartphone, tablet or Kindle device! In Andre Iguodala: The Inspiring Story of One of Basketball's Most Skilled Forwards, you'll learn the incredlbe story of one of basketball's premier forwards, Andre Iguodala. Since entering the league as the 9th overall pick in the 2004 NBA Draft, Andre Iguodala has molded quite the career for himself. For eight years, he was a centerpiece of the Philadelphia 76ers as they worked through the post-Iverson era. Then, after a short stint with the Denver Nuggets, Iguodala joined the Golden State Warriors in 2013. The rest is history. As a member of the Warriors, Iguodala has become one of the most reliable leaders of a second unit in the league. Still a highly dynamic player, Iguodala provides a spark off the bench for the Warriors whenever superstars Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, or Kevin Durant need rest. Iguodala's performance in the 2015 NBA Finals was one for the memory books, and a series that helped him win the 2015 NBA Finals MVP award. It will be exciting to see how the final chapter of Andre Iguodala's career plays out. This work details everything up until the start of the 2017-2018 NBA season for the career of Andre Iguodala. If you're a fan of Iggy, don't delay in picking up this book. Start learning his inspiring story today. Here's a preview of what you'll read about: Childhood and Early Life High School Career College Career at Arizona Andre Iguodala's NBA Career Getting Drafted Rookie Season On the Rise, Iverson Trade The New Franchise Star Learning to Delegate Lone All-Star Appearance, Final Season in Philly One Season in Denver The Move to the Warriors First NBA Title, the Finals MVP The Historic Regular Season, the Rematch with the Cavs Kevin Durant's Arrival, Second NBA Championship National Team Career Andre Iguodala's Personal Life Iguodala's Impact on Basketball and Legacy An excerpt from the book: The NBA puts a premium on do-it-all wingmen that have all-around abilities that help them to contribute in all facets of the game. They can score, rebound, make plays, bring the ball, defend, and even lead. Known as the Swiss Army knives of basketball, do-it-all wingmen are recognized for the versatility that their athleticism and basketball skills allow them to do. More often than not, championship teams are built with an all-around player on their roster. When you talk about the best all-around players in the league, you can never forget about names such as LeBron James, Scottie Pippen, Grant Hill, Larry Bird, and Kevin Durant. Even Magic Johnson, a point guard, could play the wings because of his size and athleticism. Known for their penchant for doing it all on the floor, whether it was scoring, rebounding, passing, or defending, all-around wingmen are usually bound for superstardom because of how they stuff the stat sheets and affect games in all facets. All-around do-it-all wingmen are most likely going to end up as leaders and superstars. But there are those that love to do everything so much that they would even allow themselves to be considered as glue guys and glorified role players though they actually possess abilities that could make them perennial All-Stars or even superstars in the NBA. One such player is Andre Iguodala. Book excerpt: **The Instant National Bestseller** The standout memoir from NBA powerhouse Andre Iguodala, the indomitable sixth man of the Golden State Warriors. Andre Iguodala is one of the most admired players in the NBA. And fresh off the Warriors’ fifth Finals appearance in five years, his game has never been stronger. Off the court, Iguodala has earned respect, too—for his successful tech investments, his philanthropy, and increasingly for his contributions to the conversation about race in America. It is no surprise, then, that in his first book, Andre, with his cowriter Carvell Wallace, has pushed himself to go further than he ever has before about his life, not only as an athlete but about what makes him who he is at his core. The Sixth Man traces Andre’s journey from childhood in his Illinois hometown to his Bay Area home court today. Basketball has always been there. But this is the story, too, of his experience of the conflict and racial tension always at hand in a professional league made up largely of African American men; of whether and why the athlete owes the total sacrifice of his body; of the relationship between competition and brotherhood among the players of one of history’s most glorious championship teams. And of what motivates an athlete to keep striving for more once they’ve already achieved the highest level of play they could have dreamed. On drive, on leadership, on pain, on accomplishment, on the shame of being given a role, and the glory of taking a role on: This is a powerful memoir of life and basketball that reveals new depths to the superstar athlete, and offers tremendous insight into most urgent stories being told in American society today.

When they get to the NBA, they are already poised to become some of the best players in the entire league because of how seemingly talented and ready they are for the next level. This is something that is quite a rarity in the league, as only generational talents have this attribute. When you think about such players, names such as Wilt Chamberlain, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, and LeBron James come to mind. Those few generational talents came to the NBA and instantly became megastars. In a league that is never shy of talent, such players are rare, as only those who are born with the gift and the potential to become big-name players get to rise to such heights. Of course, these are the type of players that will excel in whatever situation and team you put them in. But we are not here to talk about such names. Too much has been said about the greatest players the league has ever seen. Instead, we are here to talk about the players who may have been immensely talented but still needed to be in the right place at the right time to truly shine and become the best versions of themselves. These are the guys who may have had the potential to become stars but were not in the best situation at the start of their careers. One such name that we can think of in the NBA right now is the versatile power forward named Julius Randle. Did you enjoy this excerpt? If so, be sure to pick up a copy of this basketball biography book on Julius Randle today! This is just one of many basketball biographies by Clayton Geoffreys. Read on your PC, Mac, smartphone, tablet or Kindle device! In Kevin Love: The Inspiring Story of One of Basketball's Dominant Power Forwards, you'll read about the inspirational story of basketball's star, Kevin Love. Newly acquired from the Cleveland Cavaliers to join forces with LeBron James and Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love was all the trade chatter in the summer of 2014. After finally being acquired in return for Andrew Wiggins, Thaddeus Young, Anthony Bennett, and a $6.3 million trade exception, Kevin Love teamed up in Cleveland to create one of the most hyped trios in the Eastern Conference for this upcoming year. Yet despite this news, Kevin Love left a legacy in his six years in Minnesota. This book largely focuses on that legacy and how Kevin reached where he is today. Here is a preview of what is inside this book: Early Life and Childhood High School Years College Years at UCLA Kevin's Personal Life Kevin Love's Impact on Basketball and Beyond Love's Legacy An excerpt from the book: There are few sports leagues today as grueling as the NBA. In basketball, the effect of a superstar is gigantic compared to other sports. In baseball, an elite hitter will get only about as many chances as his teammates, and his defense only matters if the ball is actually hit towards him. In football, while the impact of a quarterback might be comparable to a star, the fact that football players only play offense or defense limits their capabilities. Time and time again in NBA history, we have seen great superstars lead mediocre supporting casts to high regular season win totals and playoff success. Kobe Bryant won 45 games in 2006 with an incredibly weak Lakers supporting cast. Tim Duncan won a championship in 2003 even though his best playoff teammates were a David Robinson with one foot in the grave as well as various other players who were too young to reach their eventual potential. LeBron James dragged the 2007 Cavaliers to the NBA Finals. Unlike the other leagues, NBA stars have shown that they are fully capable of creating great results almost entirely by themselves. If this is true, then what are we to make of Kevin Love? The newest member of the Cleveland Cavaliers spent the first six years of his career as the star for the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Timberwolves never won more than 40 games during Love's tenure. They routinely struggled during the close games where superstars are supposed to take over. They were never a top 10 defensive team, particularly concerning given that superstar big men can make a big difference on that end. It is true that Kevin Love put up absolutely staggering numbers, but how much impact did he create if the Wolves never made the playoffs? Is Love a superstar who was cursed to play with garbage in Minnesota and will now make Cleveland the most dangerous team in the league? Or is he an overrated player who looked out for his own numbers above the teams, never won anything in the NBA, and will not help the Cavaliers as much as people expect? This holiday season, if you buy the print edition as a gift, you can keep the Kindle edition for yourself! Newly revised for the 2017-2018 NBA season, Carmelo Anthony: The Inspiring Story of One of Basketball's Most Versatile Scorers details the inspirational story of basketball's star, Carmelo Anthony. Carmelo Anthony has played in the limelight since being drafted third overall in the 2003 NBA Draft behind LeBron James and Darko Milicic. Melo quickly entered the ranks amongst the most versatile scorers in the NBA due to his ability to score from practically anywhere on the court. While he has yet to capture an elusive NBA Championship, Carmelo Anthony has been a spectacle to watch having played alongside other NBA stars like Allen Iverson, Amar'e Stoudemire, and Tyson Chandler. At the time of this updated edition's writing, Carmelo continues his journey for a championship playing alongside Russell Westbrook and Paul George as a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder. Here is a preview of what is inside this book: Early Life and Childhood High School Years College Years at Syracuse Carmelo's NBA Career Getting Drafted: The Infamous 2003 Draft Class Rookie Season All-Star Status End of the Anthony/Iverson Combo, Enter Anthony/Billups Trade to Knicks Scoring Champion Season Enter Phil Jackson and Derek Fisher, Anchor of the Triangle Enter the Zinger The Final Year in New York The Trade to the Thunder Team USA Carmelo's Personal Life Carmelo Anthony's Impact on Basketball and Beyond Anthony's Legacy An excerpt from the book: There are few sports leagues today as grueling as the NBA. "Nothing will work unless you do." These wise words were uttered by the young and immensely gifted Carmelo Anthony, who has not always been an outstanding player. He had the will, but he had to grow into the skill. He was crazy about basketball as a youngster, but the small forward had to work hard to perfect his game. Today, he is just beginning to fulfill his potential as a genuine leader and is carving out his legacy in the NBA. Since his start as a standout high school player, Anthony has not been a stranger to tenacity and hard work, and he has evolved from a rough stone into a multi-faceted gem. Real basketball fanatics have both positive and negative things to say about Anthony and his impact on basketball. Some view him as a selfish ball-hog who spends too much time showboating. They may even go on to say Melo is too caught up with putting up numbers instead of trying to help his team win. On the other hand, others hail him as a sensational scoring machine, desperate to earn a ring. He may even be the most complete scorer the game has seen in quite a while, and that accolade alone is enough to rack up some wins. When it comes to offensive arsenals, nobody else in the game has more weapons than Melo. He has a deadly jumper that he can hit even with hands right in front of him. With a quick first step, he blows by slower defenders. Anthony could arguably be the best small forward down at the low post. Despite those talents, Carmelo has always lacked the accolades. In Draymond Green: The Inspiring Story of One of Basketball's Best All-Around Forwards, you will learn the inspirational story of one of basketball's premier forwards, Draymond Green. Since entering the league as the thirty-fifth pick of the 2012 NBA Draft, Draymond Green has crafted his way as one of the best in the game on both ends of the floor. With a high degree of skill on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor, Draymond played a key role in the Warriors' 2015 championship run. It should come as no surprise that Jerry West has called Draymond one of the top ten players in the league today as of the 2015-2016 NBA season. Few big men have the multiple skillsets that Draymond possesses, making Draymond an asset to any team that he plays for. It will be exciting to see where Draymond's career goes, as he already is an NBA Champion at the young age of 25. Here is a preview of what is inside this book: Childhood, High School Years College Years (Freshman Year through Senior Year) NBA Career 2012 NBA Draft United States National Team Personal Life Giving Back to MSU Legacy in the NBA An excerpt from the book: Not every star in the National Basketball Association comes out of a big-name college basketball program after playing a highly productive freshman year in what was essentially his tryout to be selected in the top 10 of the NBA Draft, thus earning a very lucrative, multi-million-dollar contract. Sometimes, a basketball star is someone who wasn't even talked about as a potential NBA player when he was recruited to play at Michigan State University and played all four seasons in East Lansing, Michigan, not far from where he played high school basketball in his hometown of Saginaw. Draymond Green didn't draw an extremely large amount of national attention except for his big game performance in his NCAA Tournament appearances with the Spartans, which included a Final Four appearance. But he was selected in the second round by the Golden State Warriors, despite a lot of scouting reports stating he wasn't really expected to step up as a true contributor. Those same experts probably didn't expect him to be one of a few players to record a triple-double in a series-clinching game to help Golden State win the NBA Finals in 2015 - joining greats such as Larry Bird and Magic Johnson. Green has made a name for himself through a lot of hard work and determination just to earn his time on the court with Golden State. But team scouts and the coaching staff saw and heard about that work ethic from his days at Michigan State and before that when he was growing up in a smaller town in Michigan, where his road to the NBA began. In Pau Gasol: The Inspiring Story of One of Basketball's Most Versatile Power Forwards, you will learn the inspirational story of one of basketball's premier power forwards, Pau Gasol. Since entering the NBA, Pau Gasol has created a legacy for himself as one of the best international basketball players to play in the NBA. As a dominant leader of the Memphis Grizzlies, a key contributor to an LA Laker Championship team, and now a valued member of the Chicago Bulls, Pau Gasol has adapted well to the different chapters of his basketball career, maintaining relevance on the court as a respected veteran. In this book, we'll explore how Pau ended up in the NBA, as well as the impact he has left behind on the game. Here is a preview of what is inside this book: Childhood in Spain FC Barcelona in Spain NBA Career Starts in Memphis End of an Era, Trade to L.A. Going to Chicago Olympic Competition Personal Life Impact on Basketball and Beyond Legacy in the NBA An excerpt from the book: Pau Gasol Saez was born on July 6, 1980, to parents who were both working in the medical field in Barcelona, Spain. His mother Marisa was a doctor and his father Agusti was a nurse administrator who worked at Saint Pau Hospital in Barcelona, Spain. It's a unique hospital that was described pretty well by Los Angeles Times writer Chuck Culpepper as a hybrid of the Shangri-La and Hotel Del Coronado - that's because there is plenty of artwork for people to see when walking the halls of the hospital, including a number of art mosaics, murals, and sculptures. Pau Gasol was born in this hospital and was raised by his parents in Cornella, which is in the southwestern portion of Barcelona's metropolitan district. He would have a younger brother Marc, who was born five years later. The family lived in this suburb that was somewhat small when you consider how it was very close to one of Spain's largest cities - Cornella had a population of about 80,000 people while the Gasol brothers were growing up. Pau was actually the oldest of three sons. While his parents commuted to work that took just under half an hour each way, Pau would walk to attend school at Escola Llor, which was a private school that had a metal front gate that greeted him every morning. It was a very short walk to and from his home and only took no more than five minutes each way; very convenient. It was a pleasant walk, as he recalled to Culpepper how he would walk past orange trees, palm trees, and neatly kept hedges at homes that didn't conform to each other. But this school was known best for having such a very successful youth sports program that it developed almost into a sporting complex for kids to play basketball both indoors and outdoors. Basketball is one of the more popular sports in Spain and, as Pau and his brothers attended school, they found themselves developing into pretty decent basketball players. During his childhood, you would find Pau learning to try his hand not only at basketball, but also at other sports that were also rising in popularity in the country - tennis, soccer, and golf. Book excerpt: Learn the Incredible Story of the New Orleans Pelicans' Star Power Forward Anthony Davis! Read on your PC, Mac, smartphone, tablet or Kindle device! In Anthony Davis: The Incredible Story of One of Basketball's Most Dynamic Power Forwards, you'll read about the inspirational story of basketball's star, Anthony Davis. This short unauthorized biography of Anthony Davis highlights his fast rise into the role of a superstar at the young age of twenty-one (as of the 2014-2015 NBA season). The drafting of Anthony Davis by the New Orleans Pelicans completely redefined the franchise, as the Pelicans have continued to improve year after year since Davis entered the league. Now, alongside a talented supporting cast of Omer Asik, Eric Gordon, Jrue Holiday, Tyreke Evans, and Ryan Anderson, the Peicans have continued to grow into a formidable team in the Western Conference. A franchise once lottery-bound has become one of the hottest up and coming franchises in the NBA today. Read on to learn about Anthony Davis' journey into the league, to his college year at Kentucky leading them to a National Championship before ultimately propelling into the NBA. Here is a preview of what is inside this book: Childhood and High School Years College Years at Kentucky Anthony Davis' NBA Career Davis' Personal Life Anthony Davis' Impact on Basketball Anthony Davis' Legacy & Future An excerpt from the book: In order to fully understand Anthony Davis' rise to stardom, we need to take a look at his journey. It is important to know where he came from in order to understand his current situation. Anthony Davis is one of the most intriguing players to have ever played in the NBA. He does, however have a lot of improving to do. By simply looking at Davis' appearance, you would not be able to tell that he was not always enormous growing up. In high school, he was only (at most) 6'3, until an 8-inch growth spurt occurred. Unlike most players who have huge growth spurts, the little ex-point guard kept his dribbling and playmaking skills, but increased his size. I guess you can say that Davis took his talent to new heights.Anthony Davis attended a not-well-known high school (Perspectives High School), where he did not receive much attention until his rapid growth spurt. He was so used to shooting the jump shot when driving in the lane, and now started dunking on people. He never had to really focus on blocking shots or having to back down his opponent on the offensive end. Davis had a lot of work cut out for him and was ready for the challenge. He had to learn how to become an inside presence and quickly tried to do so. Swatting shot after shot and often stealing the ball from the opposing guards, Davis started to pick up speed.Only one Division 1 school decided to offer him a full scholarship (Cleveland State) and he was tempted to take it, but his dad advised him to be patient and more offers would come. His dad was right, and soon enough the whole nation was after him. Though some analysts only pegged Davis as the 6th or 3rd best prospect in the Nation, Davis was still receiving offers from notable schools and eventually joined the Kentucky Wildcats. At 22, Leonard demonstrated his maturity and poise on the court as he made key contributions to the Spurs' 2014 Championship run. The league rewarded him for his performance by recognizing him as the 2014 Finals MVP, making him the third-youngest player to ever win the award. As Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili approach the end of their careers, it is only a matter of time before Kawhi truly becomes the face of the Spurs organization. Alongside LaMarcus Aldridge, Leonard and the San Antonio Spurs are certainly poised to continue another era of dominance in the NBA. Here is a preview of what is inside this book: Childhood and Early Years High School Career Kawhi's College Career Kawhi Leonard's NBA Career Getting Drafted Rookie Season First Trip to the NBA Finals Winning the NBA Championship, Finals MVP Winning the Defensive Player of the Year Award Enter LaMarcus Aldridge, First All-Star Season Kawhi Leonard's Personal Life Kawhi Leonard's Legacy and Future An excerpt from the book: Kawhi Leonard, as silent and discreet as he is off the NBA floor, is thought of as one of the most enigmatic and unemotional players in the whole league. But make no mistake about it because his play on the court is anything but silent and discreet. While he rarely expresses himself, Leonard's game does all the talking, and that's all we need to know. Kawhi Leonard is one of the premier two-way wing players in the whole NBA because he plays as hard on offense as he does on defense. Offensively, Leonard grew from a raw NBA prospect that was very limited regarding scoring abilities to the San Antonio Spurs' best scorer from any part of the floor. He was basically a non-threat from the perimeter, but then developed into one of the most efficient three-point shooters in the NBA. Defensively, that's where Leonard gets his meal ticket. Coming into the NBA, the Spurs already knew that Kawhi was a defensive gem. He was always a hustle and defense guy in college. He grabbed rebounds, defended the other team's best player, and went for the 50-50 balls. Leonard translated the same game he had in college to the NBA floor, and arguably nobody else in the NBA plays perimeter defense better than he does. With a wingspan so long that his arms could envelop six men and with hands so huge that he could cover the ball with one hand, Leonard has used his natural physical gifts to good use on the defensive end of the floor. Book excerpt: Learn the Incredible Story of Basketball Superstar Tim Duncan!Read on your PC, Mac, smartphone, tablet or Kindle device! In Tim Duncan: The Inspiring Story of Basketball's Greatest Power Forward, you'll read about the inspirational story of basketball's greatest power forwards Tim Duncan. Tim Duncan has kept the San Antonio Spurs relevant in the NBA for every year of his long NBA career. In this short book, we will learn about how Duncan became the incredible power forward that he is today. Starting first with a look into his childhood and early life, we'll learn about Tim Duncan prior to entering the NBA, along with his time in the NBA playing alongside David Robinson to his time playing with Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili leading the San Antonio Spurs.Tim Duncan is easily one of the greatest, if not the greatest power forward to play the game of basketball. For a man who once was just a kid fulfilling a promise to his parents to earn a college degree at Wake Forest, Tim Duncan has come a long way over the course of his basketball career. It will be exciting to see how Duncan and the Spurs do in this year's 2013-2014 NBA playoffs. Here is a preview of what is inside this book: Early Life and Childhood College Years at Wake Forest Duncan's NBA Career Tim Duncan's Personal Life Tim's Impact on Basketball and Beyond Duncan's Legacy An excerpt from the book:A half-decade ago, the Spurs were the most hated team in the league. In the eyes of the media and fans alike, they were not the brilliant, beautiful team that executed basketball at a level which no other team could do. They were an ugly, defense-first boring team that would never hesitate to use dirty tricks, flop, or work the referees to beat more exciting, fun teams like the "Seven Seconds or Less" Phoenix Suns. Bruce Bowen was a nasty piece of work who would kick an opposing player in the face if he could get away with it, Robert Horry hip-checked Steve Nash into the stands in the playoffs and Manu Ginobili was a cowardly flopper. Duncan may not have received quite the ire of his teammates, but he was boring. A superstar without a doubt, but one who got to play on stacked teams unlike Kevin Garnett and Kobe Bryant who struggled on mediocre teams in the mid-2000s. But do the Spurs care about the fact that those who love them today are also those who castigated them in the past? Not in the slightest. They just keep winning one 50-game season after another, chasing championships and glory. Right in the middle of that, Tim Duncan, oblivious to the roars or boos of the crowd, continues to play, with the same efficiency and genius that he has brought to the NBA over the past 17 years of his career.

Book excerpt: Learn the Incredible Story of the San Antonio Spurs' Basketball Star LaMarcus Aldridge! Read on your PC, Mac, smartphone, tablet or Kindle device! In LaMarcus Aldridge: The Inspiring Story of One of Basketball's Most Dominant Power Forwards, you will learn the inspirational story of one of basketball's premier power forwards, LaMarcus Aldridge. Since joining the NBA, LaMarcus Aldridge has demanded respect from defenses across the league for his ability to stretch the floor and score efficiently as a big man. While he started his career with the Portland Trailblazers, he signed as a free agent with the San Antonio Spurs as arguable the most coveted free agent of 2015. LaMarcus Aldridge still has much to prove as he begins his journey as a San Antonio Spur. Besides needing to eventually fill the shoes left by the game's greatest power forward to ever play the game, Tim Duncan, Aldridge also must help lead the Spurs to another NBA Championship. Here is a preview of what is inside this book: Early Life and Childhood High School Years of LaMarcus Aldridge LaMarcus Aldridge's NBA Career Getting Drafted Rookie Season Second Year Continued Consistency Rise to All-Star Status Being the Franchise Player and the Coming of Damian Lillard Final Year with the Trailblazers The Most Coveted Free Agent in 2015 First Season as a Spur LaMarcus Aldridge's Personal Life Aldridge's Legacy and Future An excerpt from the book: To be one of the best power forwards in the modern-day NBA, the player must possess the perfect combination of size, length, and skill. Among the many power forwards in this generation, a few come to mind whenever you think of those qualities. One such power forward is LaMarcus Aldridge. Standing at 6'11" with wingspan of almost 7'5", LaMarcus Aldridge, a.k.a. LA, has the size and length needed for an elite power forward to excel in the NBA. LA is also one of the more offensively skilled 4's in the world. Aldridge earns his millions by camping out in the perimeter and making mid-range jump shots all day long. Despite his penchant for shooting jumpers from the perimeter, Aldridge is also a skilled player down at the post. He can bang with the best power forwards on the low block using his size and has an array of post moves, especially his go-to-move, the turnaround jump shot. LaMarcus Aldridge's talent and abilities have contributed to his success in the NBA. Aldridge has been an All-Star four times from 2012 up until 2015. He has also been named as one of the best players in the NBA, was an All-NBA Second Team member in 2015, and was a two-time All-NBA Third Team selection in 2011 and in 2014. Individual accomplishments don't give justice to the kind of player that LA is. Aside from garnering player accolades, he has also led the Portland Trailblazers to five NBA playoff appearances and has always made the Blazers good enough to do some damage in the postseason. LA has also been a perennial pick for the Team USA Select Team because of how well he could play the match-up nightmare against international competition with his combination of size and skillful play out in the perimeter. In Aaron Gordon: The Inspiring Story of One of Basketball's Rising Star Forwards, you will learn the incredible story of one of basketball's most exciting young forwards, Aaron Gordon. As the fourth overall pick in the 2014 Draft, Aaron Gordon has become a prominent piece of the Magic franchise as they continue rebuilding post the Dwight Howard era. Now entering his fifth season, expectations are the highest they have ever been for Aaron Gordon with his new four-year contract he signed in the summer of 2018. At the time of this writing, Gordon is coming off a career season, still with a great deal of potential and upside to actualize at the young age of twenty-two. It'll be exciting to follow Gordon's journey as he continues to grow in the years to come. Here is a preview of what is inside this book: Childhood and Early Life High School and College Career Getting Drafted, Rookie Season, Putting on a Dunk Fest Aaron Gordon the Small Forward and Breakout season Gordon's Personal Life Impact on Basketball Legacy and Future An excerpt from the book: The NBA is a league that goes through a process of constant evolution. Players, coaches, and new systems change the game. The modern-day NBA has become wildly different from what old-school basketball fans are used to. The success of three-point shooters, guards, and versatile big men have paved the way for how teams now emphasize space and a faster pace. Because of how the game changed, players have had to change as well. Guards today focus more on scoring and shooting rather than passing. Wing players are now supposed to space the floor well and defend all perimeter positions. Meanwhile, most centers are now only rebounders and paint defenders. But despite the massive changes to how players now play, one thing that remained constant is the athletic and versatile power forward. Throughout the years, the NBA has seen the likes of Karl Malone, Shawn Kemp, Kevin Garnett, Amar'e Stoudemire, and Blake Griffin. Those players are known for their athleticism and versatility as power forwards out on the floor. No matter how the league has changed, any team can appreciate the talents of such players because of the variety of what they can do on both ends of the floor. They can use their superior athleticism to score inside the paint. They can blow by or outrun their defenders because of their mobility. And on the defensive end, they can cover both big man positions and can also keep up with some perimeter players. Today, the player that is next in line for the mantle of the league's premier high-flying power forward is Aaron Gordon. When it comes to sheer athletic ability, almost no other power forward in the league can match up to what Gordon can do. He is known for dunking the ball hard in creative ways. He not only uses that athleticism to put up contest-worthy dunks but also to outplay and outrun slow-footed opposing big men that fail to keep up with him. And on the defensive end, he does not only guard both big men positions but also the perimeter players as well. But what makes Gordon truly fit as an athletic power forward in the modern-day version of the NBA is his ability to stretch the floor. All-Star appearances, clutch plays, highlight moments, personal awards, MVP's, and championships. You can name any accolade in the NBA, and Larry Bird has achieved them all in his truly stellar 13-year NBA career. Just looking at all those achievements and his career averages of 24.3 points, ten rebounds, 6.3 assists, and 1.7 steals, you would immediately understand why he is a legitimate NBA legend. Larry Bird is also considered as one of the best shooters in the history of the league. In Bird, you have a guy standing almost 6'10" who could shoot the lights out of the basketball. He has the size of a power forward but with the shooting touch of an off guard. No wonder he has a career shooting percentage of 49.6% from the floor, 37.6% from the three-point line, and 88.6% from the foul stripe. With those shooting numbers, Larry Bird was a two-time member of the 50-40-90 club. Though Larry's offensive skill set belonged to that of a shooting guard, he could pass the ball as well as a point guard while rebounding possessions at the rate of a center. With those skills and abilities, Larry Bird is also one of the most versatile players the NBA has ever seen. Book excerpt: Learn the Incredible Story of Basketball Superstar Allen Iverson!Read on your PC, Mac, smartphone, tablet or Kindle device! In Allen Iverson: The Inspiring Story of One of Basketball's Greatest Shooting Guards, you'll read about the inspirational story of basketball's premier shooting guard, Allen Iverson. Allen Iverson redefined the shooting guard position role in the late 1990s and entering in the 2000s. In an age filled with greats like Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, Reggie Miller, and Tim Duncan, Iverson played in one of the most exciting eras of modern basketball. While the Philadelphia 76ers failed to win a ring during Iverson's tenure, they played some of the most incredible playoff series in NBA history and made it to the NBA Finals in 2000-2001 before ultimately falling to the Los Angeles Lakers. While he may have been controversial in his time playing the game due to what some perceived as an attitude, Allen Iverson always played the game his way, from the very first day he stepped into the NBA until the very last time he stepped off. Allen Iverson remains highly respected by guards all around the league due to the way he redefined the shooting guard position and what was possible for a shooting guard. He was and remains to this day one of the most pure shooting guards to play the game. Here is a preview of what is inside this book: Early Life and Childhood College Years at Georgetown AI's NBA Career Iverson's Personal Life Allen Iverson's Impact on Basketball and Beyond Iverson's Legacy An excerpt from the book:To discuss Allen Iverson is to discuss the importance of narratives in basketball. No NBA player's legacy has been so starkly divided between those who hail Iverson and those who disdain him.On one side, Allen Iverson was a fearsome, relentless warrior. Despite subpar supporting casts throughout his career, he fought and bled for victory every single game. He had an unparalleled will to win, and inspired fanatical loyalty in his teammates. In one of the greatest performances in NBA history, he stole Game 1 of the NBA Finals against one of the greatest NBA teams ever, the 2001 Los Angeles Lakers. It was Los Angeles's only defeat on their road to the 2001 championship, and the victory epitomized Iverson's heart and will. He won a MVP award in 2001, averaged 30 points per game year in and year out, and is without a doubt the greatest little man in NBA history. On the other side, Allen Iverson was a selfish and arrogant team-killer. The subpar supporting casts were in fact a perfect fit for his talents. Iverson's will only showed when he could dominate the ball as much as he liked, and he promptly threw temper tantrums otherwise. That 2001 MVP should have gone to eventual Finals MVP Shaquille O'Neal, and while that Game 1 performance was impressive, the reality is that the 2001 Philadelphia 76ers squad would have never made it to the NBA Finals if they had not played in a miserable Eastern Conference. He scored many points, but with his flaws and temperament, he was utterly incapable of playing on a championship team.Tags: allen iverson, philadelphia 76ers, eric snow, michael carter-williams, nerlens noel, kobe bryant, tracy mcgrady, carmelo anthony, andre iguodala, derrick rose, steve nash, basketball crossover, nba greats, AI3

Read on your PC, Mac, smartphone, tablet or Kindle device! In Paul George: The Inspiring Story of One of Basketball's Most Dynamic Small Forwards, you will learn the inspirational story of one of basketball's premier small forwards, Paul George. Since joining the NBA, Paul George has quickly emerged as one of the league's best small forwards, leading the Indiana Pacers to reemerge as contenders in the growingly competitive Eastern Conference. It is hard to believe that so many teams passed on Paul George back in the 2010 NBA Draft when he easily became one of the best draft picks out of that year's draft. While Paul George suffered from a devastating injury as a member of Team USA, he has demonstrated an incredible amount of resilience as he nursed his injury and returned to full force starting in the 2015-2016 NBA season. It will be exciting to see where George can take the Pacers in the years to come. Early Life and Childhood High School Years of Paul George Paul George's College Years at California State University, Fresno Paul George's NBA Career Getting Drafted Rookie Season Second Year Third Year and Breakout Year George's Fourth Year, 2013-14 Season Team USA Training Camp, Broken Leg, and Eight Months Out Road to Recovery and the Return The Real Return of Paul George (2015-16 Season) Chapter 5: Paul George's Personal Life Chapter 6: Paul George's Impact on Basketball and Legacy An excerpt from the book: George's return on April 5, 2015 was just a mere trailer and preview to the PG-13 show that people were in store for in the 2015-16 season. Back in August of the previous season, Paul George had his number changed from 24, his idol Kobe Bryant's number, to 13. He has always worn the number 24 since high school because he wanted to be like Kobe. The reason for the change was that he already had an identity of his own and that it was time for him to pave his own path from being that kid who idolized Kobe to the man known as PG-13. His PG-13 nickname gimmick gives him his own identity to build on and he also said it was pretty catchy because PG-13 in normal television terms implies that the show will be enjoyable yet safe. The offseason prior to the 2015-16 NBA season was a period of transition for the Pacers. Larry Bird had communicated to the coaching staff that he wanted the Pacers to play faster as opposed to their usual slow-paced offense in the past. This transition to a fast-paced offense made the slow giant Roy Hibbert dispensable. The Pacers traded Hibbert to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for a future second round draft pick. Moreover, they lost veteran leadership in David West when he opted to forego his $12 million player option to stay with the Pacers and instead signed with the Spurs for a much lower amount. They also lost CJ Watson and backup big man Luis Scola. The silver lining about the loss of their frontline starters was that it provided an avenue for their younger and more athletic players to play at a higher pace.
