This book was released on 2013 with total page 605 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Archosaurs, an important reptile group that includes today's crocodiles and birds, arose during the Triassic in the aftermath of the greatest mass extinction of all time. In the last 20 years, our understanding of the early evolution of the group has improved substantially with the discovery of new fossils and species of early archosaurs and their closest relatives, a better understanding of the relationships of these animals, and new insights into their palaeobiology. In order to synthesize these new data, researchers of early archosaurs from around the world met at the first symposium of early archosaur evolution at the IV Congreso Latinoamericano de Paleontología de Vertebrados (September 2011) in San Juan, Argentina. This symposium facilitated collaboration and strove to paint a better understanding of these extraordinary animals. The resultant body of work is a state-of-the-art examination of early archosaur groups and their close relatives including historical, anatomical, biogeographical, evolutionary and palaeobiological data. This contribution furthers our knowledge of the anatomy, relationships, and palaeobiology of species-level taxa as well as more global patterns of archosaur evolution during the Triassic -- P. 4 of cover.

In conventional pig husbandry systems, this need is difficult to fulfil, unless adequate enrichment materials are provided. This book summarises how enrichment strategies for pigs have evolved over the last few decades in different countries and provides a vast array of possibilities to enhance the exploratory needs of pigs. The role of enrichment material on avoidance of tail biting outbreaks or as an element triggering positive emotions in pigs is also discussed.

Despite all this richness, recent reports warn of different threats to this biodiversity. As a strategy to reduce the rate of loss of animal species, the development and application of assisted reproduction techniques (ARTs) for their conservation currently stands out. Thus, this book compiles information on recent scientific studies regarding the development of ARTs for the conservation of wild mammalian species in South America, thus serving as an important source of reference for professionals and students interested in wildlife conservation.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the same author of "Electrocardiogram in veterinary medicine", this book presents cardiac arrhythmias in the format of illustrated and commented clinical cases so that clinicians, anesthetists, interventionists or cardiologists may be assisted to diagnose them, and even train their ability to analyze the tracings that may appear in daily practice; and all the more so, because arrhythmias may arise in associations or often, be accompanied by other findings that suggest heart diseases (such as chamber enlargement) or extra-cardiac diseases (such as pneumonias, for instance). Both synthetic and didactic, the book includes 250 selected cases, accompanied by a brief history of the patients, and even with data from clinical examinations and ancillary tests, when available. In the page following each presented case, the findings belonging to every tracing are commented. This Q&A format has the goal of leading the reader to think, practice and rationalize simultaneously about EKG, a test that provides so much information. With a friendly outline and easy to consult, this volume is supported by the use of visual indications in the figures (arrows, asterisks, lines, and so on), with the aim of drawing the reader's attention to the most significant points in each tracing, thus highlighting the electrocardiographic findings.
