Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The battle of the heart can be seen as the core problem of the Christian religion in modern culture. According to Augustine, the complex mixture of longings are the driving forces of human lives. These longing are not an intellectual puzzle, but rather a craving for sustenance. The contributions locate the battle for the heart and transformation of society and church in the context of an ethnic, multi-religious, socio-economical divided Africa. Where are the authentic voices of leaders who can change the heart? How to mend a 'broken' heart? How to transform congregations towards inclusion of difference? Can we embrace the dignity of difference as attitudes that enable transformation of church and society?

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Gospels might not be "good enough" for modernity, and science is certainly its god. But neither is an impediment to the one, true God. Indeed, He is using methods of the twenty-first century -- His twenty-first century -- to show how our Faith can be proven through Eucharistic miracles with clinical scientific precision. In this astounding book, prominent cardiologist and author Dr. Franco Serafini walks us through the extensive medical and scientific research into five Eucharistic miracles, unveiling the stunning testimonies of hematologists, oncologists, neurologists, geneticists, molecular biologists, and more who all concluded the same thing: the five Eucharistic miracles are undeniably authentic. In surprising and fascinating ways, each of these miracles relates to the others: all reveal heart muscle tissue, many reveal a heart that was experiencing extreme suffering, and some reveal a heart still enduring tissue trauma. You'll learn how the human DNA found in Eucharistic substances was identified, what kept a revered eighth-century relic alive until the twenty-first century, and how the identical blood group recurred in the unique miracles to provide contemporary man with a thrilling statistical fortress. Best of all, you'll be armed with the scientific data to prove not only that God is still active in the world but that He desires all of us to be in union with Him through His Most Precious Body and Blood.

Book Synopsis Transcatheter Treatment of Tricuspid Valve Regurgitation by : Fabien Praz
Download or read book Transcatheter Treatment of Tricuspid Valve Regurgitation written by Fabien Praz and published by Frontiers Media SA. This book was released on 2020-07-31 with total page 72 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Severe tricuspid regurgitation (TR) is a common valvular heart disease with an incidence of approximately 4% in the adult general population. Most commonly, it results from secondary causes including left ventricular dysfunction, mitral regurgitation and pulmonary arterial hypertension. Isolated severe TR has been identified as an independent predictor of death and cardiac adverse events. Furthermore, TR has been observed to develop late after left-sided valve surgery in up to 10% of patients with adverse impact on clinical outcomes. Perioperative mortality after surgical correction of TR has been reported to range between 2 and 10%. Moreover, a relevant proportion of patients with TR have already undergone open-heart surgical procedures and reoperation has been associated with an excessive risk of mortality. As a result, less invasive treatment options using transcatheter techniques may address an unmet need among high risk and inoperable patients. Different concepts for the percutaneous treatment of symptomatic severe TR have been developed including annular reduction, restoration of coaptation, and edge-to-edge repair. Worldwide, an increasing number of patients is treated using these emerging techniques and early clinical results begin to be available.
