Book Synopsis Destiny Has No Favorites by : Dieter Klett
Download or read book Destiny Has No Favorites written by Dieter Klett and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2012-10 with total page 277 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a story of a person arriving in this country in this country and in this city where he eventually ended up in the middle of the night, not knowing a soul in Canada and having just about $10.- in his pocket. Using my imagination I let this imaginary person - Peter- show the reader the adventures and misadventures he and eventually his family experienced in this for him so strange and at the same time exciting new place. I decided to cover a period of roughly the first 25 years Peter spent in his new chosed homeland. I could have continued showing the development of his and his family's life after the 25 year period, but I decided against that. I wanted this story to have closure. Another possible book would show the reader how Peter's life continued after 25 years and would show us how he and his loved ones continued with their lives with its ups and downs. The gist of the events occured from the mid 1950's until the early 1980's. I actually completed this book in 1982. It was lying in my filing cabinet for 30 years, because I never had either the time or inclination to publish in writing. The title of this publication: "Destiny has no Favorites" is correct. Destiny, or fate, has no favorites and we all are at the mercy of this destiny destined for us by that higher power we may call God, Nature, the Absolute Being, the Creator, Providence, the Omnipotent, Being the Supreme Soul or whatever mage us feel better to accept the unacceptable.

Book excerpt: Using Susan's own experiences and those of the many self-determining people she has met and interviewed over the years, she eloquently explores what happens when people receive due acknowledgment - and what happens when they don't.Now, more than ever, in this post-September 11 world, we have a clear choice. Do we move forwards or backwards? Do we dare to have a bold vision of how we would like the world to be or a predictable plan for retribution? As voters we need to ask ourselves, who has the boldest vision for our future? Is it a bold vision of light and moving forward or is it a vision of darkness and destruction and moving back to where we were before September 11, 2001?
Book Synopsis A Hero Walks Alone by : George Cassar
Download or read book A Hero Walks Alone written by George Cassar and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2015-05-20 with total page 339 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Heroes are not made; theyre born with the gift of having special powers that many of us only dream about. Wrongly judged not only by authorities but also by his own father, Fabian Barnas life dramatically changes after being wrongly convicted and jailed for a crime he didnt commit before becoming a hero in the Vietnam War. A Hero Walks Alone tells of the hardships the Barna family are forced to endure after being persecuted by the Aconi family, which began as soon as they planted their feet on American soil and continued through to the adulthood. This story takes you through a journey of how (against all odds) the Barna family survived years of torment and Mafia-related incidents, before becoming outstanding citizens. It tells of the transformation of Fabian Barna from once being a mixed-up street kid to becoming a true American hero and how he discovers love and romance in spite of the brutality he witnesses during his growing years. It also reminds us of the ever-growing supply of cocaine and assorted drugs being introduced into our streets and how Special Agent Peter Barna (Fabians brother) plays his part by introducing new technology to Central Intelligence, routing plans of criminals aspiring to become the next Al Capone. Finally, A Hero Walks Alone tells of the many twists and turns played out by two brothers as Fabian and Peter Barna combine to avenge the death of their murdered parents as they pursue, capture, and eliminate their long time archenemy, Tosawi Aconi, in what can only be described as the most bizarre ending of a persons life.
