Y, si lo hacemos acudiendo a fuentes no canónicas como los evangelios apócrifos, nos hallaremos, juzgándolos desde nuestra perspectiva actual, en un microuniverso regido por portentos, a veces truculentos e inaceptables, por prodigios de todo tipo y por numerosísimos milagros. Difícil es, por tanto, tomar en serio tanto despropósito aunque esto no ha impedido que, desafortunadamente, alguna denominación religiosa los haya incluido como parte de su llamada "Santa Tradición" o hayan sido motivo y modelo para el arte pictórico e incluso yo haya decidido interrelacionarlos con los canónicos. Tampoco quiero dar a entender con esto que todo lo que se vierte en los evangelios canónicos se corresponda con la verdad: hay falta de verosimilitud e incongruencias. Además, su contenido, por su misma ausencia de concreción y de datos, ha dado pie, en cierto sentido, a los mismos apócrifos, que conforman a su vez un armazón común desde el que resulta difícil extraer conclusiones plausibles para el tema de este libro. Será en la Parte IV de The Urantia Book (1955) donde las hallaremos junto con una visión más cercana a la realidad del joven Maestro. En mi opinión, este texto constituye el documento más extraordinario y completo existente sobre la vida y enseñanzas de Jesús. The Urantia Book consta de 196 escritos divididos en cuatro partes, de los cuales 77 de ellos (desde el 120 hasta el 196) corresponden a dicha parte cuarta. El libro que el lector tiene en sus manos incluye solamente nueve de estos escritos, desde el 120 al 128. Y ¿por qué este análisis fragmentario de una parte cuarta tan extensa? Porque considero que conforma una unidad temática global con muchos subtemas que resultan del todo desconocidos hoy en día. En estos nueve escritos se nos relata, con todo detalle, lo que acontece a Jesús desde su nacimiento hasta sus veintiséis años de edad, periodo de tiempo denominado "los años perdidos" por la escasez de datos existentes en el Nuevo Testamento. Y entre otras muchas facetas de la vida del joven Jesús, estos escritos nos aproximan a su educación, a la relación con sus padres, a la paulatina toma de conciencia de su divinidad y, muy especialmente, al papel que asumió como cabeza de familia tras la muerte de su padre José, que dejó tras de sí a una viuda y ocho hijos de los que hacerse cargo.

The most aggressive transcontinental integration project ever planned for South America, the initiative systematically deploys ten east-west infrastructural corridors, enhancing economic development but raising important questions about the polarizing effect of pitting regional needs against the colossal processes of resource extraction. Providing much-needed historical contextualization to IIRSA’s agenda, Beyond the City ties together a series of spatial models and offers a survey of regional strategies in five case studies of often overlooked sites built outside the traditional South American urban constructs. Implementing the term “resource extraction urbanism,” the architect and urbanist Felipe Correa takes us from Brazil’s nineteenth-century regional capital city of Belo Horizonte to the experimental, circular, “temporary” city of Vila Piloto in Três Lagoas. His analysis is based on his many years of engagement with a group of Afro-Colombian activists of Colombia’s Pacific rainforest region, the Proceso de Comunidades Negras (PCN). Escobar offers a detailed ethnographic account of PCN’s visions, strategies, and practices, and he chronicles and analyzes the movement’s struggles for autonomy, territory, justice, and cultural recognition. Yet he also does much more. Consistently emphasizing the value of local activist knowledge for both understanding and social action and drawing on multiple strands of critical scholarship, Escobar proposes new ways for scholars and activists to examine and apprehend the momentous, complex processes engulfing regions such as the Colombian Pacific today. Territories of Difference is Escobar’s effort to think with Afro-Colombian intellectual-activists who aim to move beyond the limits of Eurocentric paradigms as they confront the ravages of neoliberal globalization and seek to defend their place-based cultures and territories.
