Book excerpt: Dans ce travail on étudié le cas de fluides viscoplastiques très visqueux dans un système d'agitation classique: une cuve cylindrique à fond plat et non chicanées munie par des agitateurs: ancre, barrière, et bipale respectivement. On s'intéresse aux écoulements laminaires, incompressibles et isothermes. On consacre à une approche numérique effectuée à l'aide d'un code CFD Fluent 6.2.13 basé sur la méthode de discrétisation aux volumes finis des équations de Navier-Stokes formulées en variables (U.V.P). Le seuil d'écoulement lié au comportement viscoplastique est modélisé par une loi théorique de Bingham. Les résultats obtenus sont utilisés pour faire une synthèse sur les trois systèmes simulés de point de vue puissance consommée. En étudié l'influence de l'inertie par la variation du nombre de Reynolds et Reynolds généralisé et l'influence de la plasticité par la variation du nombre de Bingham sur l'écoulement de fluide et on montre que l'existence d'un seuil d'écoulement caractérisé par le nombre de Hedstrom peut conduire à une quasi-immobilisation de zones à l'intérieur du système d'agitation pour les trois géométries proposées.
