Die Schule ist neben der Familie eine der wichtigsten Sozialisationsinstanzen, die Kinder in ihrem Leben durchlaufen. Daher sollten sie ein Umfeld in ihrer schulischen Laufbahn vorfinden, in dem sie sich frei und ohne Zwänge entwickeln können. Da dies auch als eine Verpflichtung der Gesellschaft gegenüber „ihren“ Kindern verstanden werden kann, müssen die Verantwortlichen für die Ausbildung, unter Einbeziehung der Erziehungsberechtigten, hier im pädagogischen Feld tätig werden. Für eine Annäherung an das Thema „Gewalt in der Schule“ wird in dieser Arbeit sich einer psychologischen Sichtweise bedient, um im weiteren Verlauf Richtlinien zu erarbeiten, die als Hilfestellung für den Umgang von gewalttätigen Schülern verstanden werden können. In der Literatur besteht kein Zweifel, dass sich Gewalttaten auf Aggressionen und Aggressionspotentiale zurückführen lassen. In dieser Arbeit wird davon ausgegangen, dass natürliche Aggressionen und Aggressionspotentiale in jedem Menschen vorhanden sind, welche Schutzfunktionen für das Überleben erfüllen. Diese Sichtweise lässt sich darin begründen, dass Tiere von Geburt an über ein gewisses Aggressionspotential verfügen, um Nahrungsquellen und die Fortpflanzung zu sichern. Die Annahme über ein natürliches Aggressionspotential beim Menschen ist insofern zu erklären, da sich der Mensch in seiner Evolution auch aus einem Tier entwickelte. Dieses dient zwar nicht als plausible Erklärung für die Gewalt an Schule und in der Gesellschaft, erklärt aber warum sie existiert. Für eine genauere Untersuchung werden die wichtigsten Theorien der Aggressionsforschung untersucht. Im weiteren Verlauf werden zudem Formen von Aggressionen im Allgemeinen und im Speziellen in Bezug zur Schule dargestellt. Hierzu wird ein Forschungsbericht über aggressives Verhalten und Gewalt an Schulen Sachsen-Anhalts herangezogen. Den Abschluss bildet, wie oben erwähnt, eine Übersicht von Möglichkeiten, wie Lehrer und Eltern mit aggressiven Verhalten in der Schule umgehen können. Ein weiteres Anliegen ist es aggressives Verhalten nicht zu verdammen, sondern die Hintergründe und Motivationen der Täter zu verstehen.

Ferner gibt es einen Ausblick auf unterschiedliche Ansätze, wie z.B. Lerntheorie oder ethnologische Modelle. Die Medien stellen allein die Schüler als Träger der Gewalt ins Zentrum des Interesses, daher ist auch die Struktur der Schule und die Lehrer als Faktoren für Gewalt in die Analyse mit einzubeziehen. Die theoretischen Überlegungen werden dann an den statistischen Daten des Berliner Senates konkretisiert. Speziell die Hypothese, dass Gewalt unter Jugendlichen zunimmt, wie es von den Medien immer wieder behauptet wird, soll kritisch untersucht werden.

Inwiefern die Inhalte dieser Begriffe eine Rolle spielen, werde ich im Laufe der Arbeit klaren. Nach einigen Definitionsvorschlagen und der Unterscheidung verschiedener Arten der Aggression, werde ich zunachst die wichtigsten Aggressionstheorien und Erklarungsmoglichkeiten darstellen. Kapitel 2 beschaftigt sich mit biologischen Faktoren, mit soziologischen Erklarungen und psychologischen Theorien. Es folgt ein kurzer Vergleich der Ansatze. Nach den ersten beiden allgemeinen Kapiteln, werde ich in den folgenden Punkten direkten Bezug zur Schule herstellen.
