Myers and published by . This book was released on 1949 with total page 36 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This paper presents the results of the investigation of a wing-alone and wing-fuselage configuration employing a wing with the quarter-chord line swept back 45 degrees, with aspect ratio 4, taper ratio 0.3, and an NACA 65A006 airfoil section. Lift, drag, pitching moment, and root bending moment were obtained for these configurations. In addition, effective downwash angles and dynamic-pressure characteristics in the region of a probable tail location were also obtained for these configurations and are presented for a range of tail heights at one tail length. In order to expedite the publishing of these data, only a brief analysis is included.

Book Synopsis Aerodynamics for Engineers by : John J. Bertin
Download or read book Aerodynamics for Engineers written by John J. Bertin and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2021-08-12 with total page 843 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Now reissued by Cambridge University Press, this sixth edition covers the fundamentals of aerodynamics using clear explanations and real-world examples. Aerodynamics concept boxes throughout showcase real-world applications, chapter objectives provide readers with a better understanding of the goal of each chapter and highlight the key 'take-home' concepts, and example problems aid understanding of how to apply core concepts. Coverage also includes the importance of aerodynamics to aircraft performance, applications of potential flow theory to aerodynamics, high-lift military airfoils, subsonic compressible transformations, and the distinguishing characteristics of hypersonic flow. Supported online by a solutions manual for instructors, MATLAB® files for example problems, and lecture slides for most chapters, this is an ideal textbook for undergraduates taking introductory courses in aerodynamics, and for graduates taking preparatory courses in aerodynamics before progressing to more advanced study.

Book Synopsis Applied Computational Aerodynamics by : Russell M. Cummings
Download or read book Applied Computational Aerodynamics written by Russell M. Cummings and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2015-04-27 with total page 893 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This computational aerodynamics textbook is written at the undergraduate level, based on years of teaching focused on developing the engineering skills required to become an intelligent user of aerodynamic codes. This is done by taking advantage of CA codes that are now available and doing projects to learn the basic numerical and aerodynamic concepts required. This book includes a number of unique features to make studying computational aerodynamics more enjoyable. These include: • The computer programs used in the book's projects are all open source and accessible to students and practicing engineers alike on the book's website, www.cambridge.org/aerodynamics. The site includes access to images, movies, programs, and more • The computational aerodynamics concepts are given relevance by CA Concept Boxes integrated into the chapters to provide realistic asides to the concepts • Readers can see fluids in motion with the Flow Visualization Boxes carefully integrated into the text.

Arabian and published by . This book was released on 1960 with total page 88 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The aerodynamic load characteristics of a wing-body combination were determined experimentally at Mach numbers from 0.80 to 1.03 for angles of attack up to 26 degrees. Two wings, both with 30 degrees sweep of the quarter-chord line, taper ratio of 0.2, aspect ratio of 3, and thickness of 4 percent chord, but of different types of construction, were tested. One wing was of solid steel and the other was of plastic with an inner steel core ...
