Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Tender shepherding is the ultimate expectation of the Lord from shepherds who take care of His lambs and sheep. He is looking for tender shepherds everywhere including personal homes, workplaces, neighborhoods, and in the church. Will you answer the call? Believers in Christ Jesus are making disciples as a sure proof of their love for Him but tender shepherding which is the ordained means appears to be somewhat in crisis. It is in this regard that “A Tender Shepherd” is a voice in time to ignite the tender shepherding spirit that inhabits believers. Tenderness is a significant power chip of the Treasure that resides in believers of Jesus Christ without a doubt. It is the undeniable power that is relevant for the world today. As this power becomes increasingly recognizable and used daily by believers in Christ Jesus for tender shepherding, transformation of lives will begin to be more visible and apparent in homes, families, workplaces, neighborhoods, and indeed in all spheres of human life. The world cannot deny their thirst for transformed lives in every sphere of life and hence the demand for tender shepherds. This is the kind of shepherding that pleases the Lord and proven to be effective for His purposes in reconciling the world to Himself. In this book you will find: • Heaven’s perspective on shepherding • The shepherding blue- print of Jesus Christ and illustrations; those that marked His discipleship and became His brand; discipleship by tenderness and love • The central purpose of shepherding for the fulfillment of the Great Commission • examples for the church from the Apostles who had first-hand and best taste of Jesus’ discipleship. • A hypothetical classification of churches based on shepherd types and suggestions for introspection and • Shepherding in other spheres of life The author considers tender shepherding one of the surest means of responding to Jesus’ command of making disciples of all nations as the day of reckoning draws near. When He will say to each tender shepherd: COME YOU BLESSED OF MY FATHER, INHERIT THE KINGDOM PREPARED FOR YOU FROM THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD.

Book excerpt: Pastoring is both an art and a science; however, much more than that, it is a divine calling wherein God imparts to chosen vessels a gift of his grace that empowers them to extend his loving care to all his children-especially those of the household of faith. While there are many competing theories as to what pastoring means and how it should be fulfilled both in the life of the administrator and in the lives of those who are being pastored, the reality is that the only definition that matters is the one that God himself gives through Holy Scripture. True pastors are identified in the context of the Hebrew Scriptures through the very word itself, which represents a function, not a form. This is true of most words in the Hebrew texts which describe actions rather than states of being. Pastoring, therefore, is a work, not merely a title. The Hebrew word that is translated "pastor" is (ra'ah), which is a verbal form meaning "to pasture." A biblical pastor, therefore, is actually a "pasturer" or "one who pastures," with the visual picture of "one who leads sheep to pasture" or "one who feeds [and cares for] sheep." This metaphor was understood well in the ancient agrarian Israelite society because pasturing sheep was essential to life. This idea is readily understood in that most famous of biblical passages about pastors as shepherds: "The Lord is my shepherd. I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters" (Psalm 23:1-2, NIV). A pastor (shepherd) creates a comfortable environment for the ingesting of divine truth and a safe space where people can drink the water of life freely. When God said to Israel, "I will give you pastors after my own heart, who will feed you on knowledge and understanding" (Jeremiah 3:15, NASB), he was playing on the metaphor that is readily attached to the word pastor. "The kind of pastors that I will send you," says God, "are the ones who will feed you with knowledge and understanding." Obviously, Gold was using a vivid example of the shepherd/sheep relationship in ancient Israel to teach a spiritual lesson: the pastors he would give to his people would be the ones who would equip their souls with the knowledge and understanding that they needed for successful living, and they would do so on a continuing, daily basis. A God-called, ordained, and a gifted pastor is someone who by virtue of faith and faithfulness has learned how to be a true servant leader-one who "stands out front and points the way" to spiritual blessing and knowledge and understanding for successful living. A pastor is one who has walked the narrow way with God through Jesus the Messiah in a spiritual exercise of both theoretical knowledge and the practical application of that knowledge. A pastor is one, then, who can teach not only theory and concept but can also demonstrate practical out-working of such ideas. A pastor is one who joins arm-in-arm with those whom he shepherds to help them walk out the life of Jesus in a vibrant and joyful way. A true shepherd demonstrates through dynamic modeling the very truths that are being taught in public community exercises. The Shepherd and His Flock is a volume that will permit you to look deep into the very life and being of a God-called and gifted pastor. You will learn powerful lessons from the heartbeat of his constant interaction with God's sheep, standing with them through pain and suffering, through triumph and rejoicing to help lead them to a Spirit-filled life of peace and blessing. The insights that you will gain from this book will be invaluable to you as you labor in the Master's vineyard and carry out his prime directive: "Go and make many disciples, teaching them all things that I have commanded you" (Matthew 28:20). Now, take time to walk the road of servanthood with a true disciple of the Lord Jesus, Dr. Jeff Hamm.

Book excerpt: The Chief Shepherd knows exactly what is needed for His flock to flourish – good shepherds! And that is precisely what He gave to His church on the day He ascended on high (Ephesians 4:8-12). Further, in His word, He has provided a complete shepherd’s handbook that outlines exactly how such shepherds can shepherd well. For stupid shepherds who ignore His counsel, there will be sadness and loss (Jeremiah 10:21). But for those who hear and do what He prescribes, these good shepherds will someday stand before the Chief Shepherd and receive an unfading crown of glory (1 Peter 5:4). What a promise! Jim Fleming has spent over four decades studying and ministering as a local church shepherd. Now he is passing along what he has learned as his legacy. He hopes that those who read and practice what is in this book will manifest what Jesus expects of His shepherds. For those who do, Pastor Fleming anticipates a fixed and future day when a host of shepherds will join him as they bask in joy before their Chief Shepherd. Shepherdology 101 will help get you ready for this glorious moment.

The message of this book may be the missing link you have been looking for. While the subject of spiritual authority in the Church can be uncomfortable and even inflammatory because of the abuse of authority by some in leadership, it is nevertheless a very Biblical concept; one that God Himself has ordained and one in which rich blessings and productivity can be found for those who understand and follow these spiritual principles. Get ready to blossom! In any government, kingdom or family there are guidelines to live by so we might prosper and live well together. Within that context, Andrew Robbins speaks as a father to his children in this book, releasing timeless wisdom and principles to live by. Fathers have the difficult task of sometimes speaking hard truth, but it is in that truth that we are set free. I believe you will find this book to be an honest, humble and transparent presentation of Biblical authority from the Scriptures as well as Andrew's own life and experience. While teachers are important since they help us accurately divide the truth, fathers help us get our hearts right. This book will help you align your heart to God's heart. -Gregg Jackson, senior pastor, Legacy Life Church, Jeffersonville, IN Andrew Robbins is the founder of Andrew Robbins Ministries (ARM) and the pastor of Blessed Life Fellowship. It is his passion to connect with people crippled by failure and brokenness, and help them begin living an overcoming life in Christ by practicing the principles of God's Kingdom. Andrew resides in central Indiana with his wife, Donna, and their children, Hannah, Luke, and Drew. His other ministry resources can be accessed at www.AndrewRobbinsMinistries.org.
