Book excerpt: From the A-list bodyworker, trainer, and alignment expert dubbed “the body whisperer” by Goop comes Taller, Slimmer, Younger—a powerfully simple daily foam roller routine to help you sculpt longer, leaner muscles, stand an inch taller, look ten pounds slimmer, and renew your body and mind. Are you ready to roll? ALIGN YOUR BODY, ALIGN YOUR LIFE There’s a new buzzword in the fitness world: fascia. It’s the connective tissue that wraps around your muscles and organs and helps keep everything in place. But in our increasingly busy and often stressful lives, tension and toxins are often stored within our fascia, resulting in serious long-term consequences including poor posture, excess weight, acute anxiety, and chronic pain. Fitness and alignment expert Lauren Roxburgh—who has worked with such stars as Gwyneth Paltrow, Gabby Reece, Melissa Rauch, and Baron Davis—has the solution to keep your fascia supple, flexible, and strong. Using only a foam roller, you can reshape and elongate your muscles for a leaner, younger look, while also releasing tension, breaking up scar tissue, and ridding yourself of toxins. In just fifteen minutes a day, Roxburgh’s 21-day program will guide you through a simple series of unique rolling techniques that target ten primary areas of the body, including the shoulders, chest, arms, legs, hips, butt, back, and stomach. The result is a healthy, balanced, aligned body that not only looks but feels fantastic. Advance praise for Taller, Slimmer, Younger “As an athlete with a lifelong passion for fitness and wellness, I am always looking to get an edge in my body, and Lauren Roxburgh has helped me do just that. Lauren’s philosophy will rejuvenate your body and spirit, helping you look and feel lighter and brighter, reducing stress and tension, while dramatically improving your stance in your body and also in your life!”—Gabby Reece, U.S. beach volleyball champion “This book is sure to become the body bible for anyone who wants to live a healthy, fit, and balanced life.”—Melissa Rauch, actress, The Big Bang Theory and True Blood “Lauren’s method has rejuvenated my spirit, giving me more energy and strength, which has allowed me to perform better on and off the court.”—Baron Davis, two-time NBA all-star “Lauren’s method sculpts the body’s soft tissues, slimming and streamlining whatever part you work. She’s a ‘body whisperer!’”—Goop “If you’ve never tried foam rolling, I highly recommend it. [Lauren Roxburgh’s] program is designed to improve posture, release tension and stress, activate and strengthen the core, and heal from the inside out. When I was a model, I used a foam roller to lengthen my muscles. I’m so excited to get back into it once I give birth! Oh, and Goop dubbed her ‘The Body Whisperer.’ Enough said.”—MollySims.com

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Famous Arabic translator Oona Noor receives a mysterious manuscript from Cairo entitled The Seductive Lady Vanessa of Manhattanshire and realizes she has discovered a masterpiece. The book, written by an unknown author named Aisha Benengeli, spins the tale of Maxine More, a divorced, romance novel–obsessed New Yorker who envisions herself as a Georgian Lady and sees the world entirely through the prism of her beloved books. Designating her cleaning lady Magdalena Cruz as her lady-in-waiting, Lady Vee embarks on a series of misadventures. She mistakes a plumber for a famous alpha male; pursues her poodle-owning crush, Nelson Dodge; dispenses misguided advice to the lovelorn and goes man-hunting on New York’s Upper East Side. Heartbroken when the manuscript ends abruptly, translator Noor journeys to Cairo, hunts for the concluding pages, and uncovers a stunning confession from Lady Vee’s creator Benengeli about her own romantic troubles. As the author struggles to find happiness for her crazed character and herself, the translator desperately searches for the elusive writer. In the end, this delightfully inventive novel unspools three tales about three very different women, each on a quest for a perfect love story.

Book excerpt: Each of us pitches ideas every day. Regardless of what idea we're selling-or who we're selling it to-it all boils down to the act of stirring someone to join you, to agree to follow you. Yet we consistently underestimate how critical it is to recognize the role of the decision maker. Decisions are, after all, made by people; and people have needs and agendas, spoken and unspoken. Understanding these needs and agendas are critical to success in business. Kevin Allen's approach is not about persuading, but about creating a connection that assures a mutual win. By unearthing the true motivation or desire of the decision maker, Allen shows how to craft a story or message around it, creating a predictable and repeatable end result. Full of stories and examples, this entertaining book teaches you how to effectively find, connect, and finally to speak to the Hidden Agenda to win business unfailingly, every time.

Things do not stop here. Your thoughts stow every move because they compete hard to defeat you silently. You are constantly competing with them, but unknowingly. What if, I tell you who they are and how they yank every move of yours in advance? They have embedded themselves smartly in our activities and are efficient enough like robots to perform their tasks. They profuse themselves in nature to make us feel like it is a natural act, but that is not the case. We all try to make our lives meaningful, but how much do we succeed in doing that depends upon how we present ourselves while addressing others in our day-to-day life. Happiness is a very widely used term. On the contrary, it is less practiced. ‘50 Rules To Happiness In The Modern World’ will acquaint you with the art of practicing happiness.

Book excerpt: In 2020 the Covid pandemic was happening rapidly, changing everyone's life. Stores closed, there was a shelter in place for a whole year and death filled the air spreading like wildfires on a hot windy day. News ran its course, families were destroyed, healthcare workers at their breaking point. Hell happened while political monarchy surrounded the world. What were we to do? A time for reflection and reevaluation. Only jobs available were of three choices, Amazon, Federal Express and Doordash. Families trapped with each other, forcing love and patience to develop. Parents celebrating their precious moments that were lost in the hustle and bustle of the working world. Time stopped, not knowing what day was coming. Society began to change rapidly, and fear lit up the sky. Prayers lined up asking, “God save me!” We had to look at ourselves in all its chaos through a cracked mirror of the unknown. Personally, I grabbed my laptop to save me. It was my therapy. My mind began to settle with the notion of peace amongst the tragedy we faced. An idea flew along, to find an outlet for all these emotions. A calm summer day I started reading and posting poems of all types, pretty much the steppingstones of my journey through what we call life. I brought out real issues, fun, and fantasy as a place to escape from reality. My creativity got bigger, so I started my own poetry group called Language From The Heart Poetry. During this adventure I met a wonderful human who enjoyed my art of poetry as much as I did. A man known for his own phenomenal works of writing in all forms. Also known as the man with the golden pen. He was intelligent and had brilliant status, I was pleased. Poetry connects people because it is the language, we all have in our hearts. This man and I spoke the same language. The camaraderie of poetry bonded us. An incredible friendship developed, and a working/writing collaboration began. Our work was full of passion. So, I asked him to partner with me on making an art site where we can share literature, music, and storytelling in all forms. He gladly accepted. Thank you to my friend and coauthor Mr. Dost Muhammad Rajper. We realized we were meant to collide in this common journey. Our art combined expressed some of the most brilliant pieces of poetry work I have ever seen. We realized we are better together. The book therefore began its journey to infancy, “Me and Blue”.

Book excerpt: Living an immortal life does not make one immune to pain or strife, not even the Nephilim of the Lord. For such a long existence gives one time to experience the utter highs and devastating lows all souls endure, whether they are given one hundred years or five thousand. It is a truth all Nephilim acknowledge and accept – especially Rohan. For the last thirteen hundred years, Rohan has guarded his heart with a firm resolve that has kept him from ever knowing hurt again. But that same resolve has kept him alone, as well. When a surprise attack on one of his fellow immortals brings Rohan’s heart out from the cold shell he has locked it away in, he must decide if he will let old wounds and loss keep him from experiencing the potential of a new love and partnership – the likes of which he has never allowed himself to consider – or if he will retain his solitary existence. As the danger mounts and hidden plots are uncovered in the eternal struggle between the Light and the darkness, Rohan will be forced to make a personal choice and take a stand for a fellow Nephilim. One who has captivated him and caused Rohan to question his decision to never give his heart to another, ever again.

Book excerpt: A “tour de force” novel from the groundbreaking author of City of Night and one of the premier chroniclers of gay life in America (Los Angeles Times). John Rechy takes us inside a “leather and Western” bar located near the deserted waterfront of a large American city. This is a sexual battlefield—a world of trucks, piers, and warehouses—depicted in Rechy’s “eloquent, convincing, basically unsparing” prose (Herbert Gold). The bar regulars are on a ceaseless search for compatible love. The occasional customer hopes for a quick sexual fix. Female and transvestite hookers work the dark streets outside. A couple seeks a voyeuristic experience. And one young man ventures out for the first time. During the course of a single evening we get to know them all and watch as the night descends into the depths of a sexual underworld where danger and play transform into quasi-religious rites that end in ritual sacrifice.

Book excerpt: There is joy in every moment of life when you hear only the melody of divine love. Throughout her lifes personal and spiritual journey, author Maryam Saligheh has found the dimension of the Beyond to be the basis of all that exists. Building on this foundation, she developed the concept of the intercorrelation between the Beyond, eternity, and infinity. Beyond considers the quest of the soul within as it seeks to reunite with the infinite you at the core of its being. As a result of this reunion, the soul gains the knowledge that it is an evolving life, flowing in the atmosphere of eternity and climbing the ladder of infinity. Saligheh emphasizes the growth of the soul through the tunnel of expansion from the dense cloud that is egos field of energy to higher realmslove, well-being, oneness, the infinite you, God, and ultimately the Beyond, where our true origins begin. This guide depicts the inner journey of the human soul and its evolution, offering ways for you to shift your life in the direction of your dreams and desires.
