Download or read book Accelerants written by Michael A. Boylan and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2006-12-28 with total page 184 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Many sales processes don’t work anymore––period. But companies don’t know exactly what’s not working, or why, or what needs fixing. What’s worse, many companies are in denial that their processes are broken and will not support what they need to do going forward.” Today it's tougher than ever for sales, marketing, and business development organizations to keep improving their revenue and profits. Potential clients want to see salespeople less and less, real decision makers hide behind skilled gatekeepers, and even when you actually reach them, they have impossibly short attention spans. Sales and closing cycles get longer, margins get thinner, and customers keep raising the bar – demanding more value, cheaper prices, and better service. Michael Boylan's Accelerants offers a powerful solution to these impediments to growth. Giving business leaders the tools to diagnose what is hindering revenue growth, Boylan first identifies twelve constraints that apply consistent downward pressure on companies, making them less efficient, effective, and profitable. He then prescribes the Accelerant Principles—twelve field-proven tools Boylan has perfected over twenty years that can help any organization overcome, minimize, or dissolve the constraints to business growth. Together, the Accelerant principles offer a cohesive framework that can help any business: target new revenue opportunities more effectively connect with the real decision makers faster craft more persuasive value propositions deliver better pitches, in less time weed out prospects who are "just kicking the tires" shorten closing cycles by up to 25 percent You’ll read how a magazine start-up used the Accelerant Principles to create such a compelling value proposition that advertisers were competing with each other to participate. And how a large multinational technology firm employed these techniques to meet with top executives from day one and close unprecedented deals faster than they thought possible. With ideas that are relevant, timely, and applicable, Accelerants provides a program that will foster empowerment, cohesion, and clarity of purpose within any sales, marketing, or business development organization.

This book was released on 2009-12-01 with total page 321 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The theme of this volume, ?Medical Applications of Accelerators?, is of enormous importance to human health and has a deep impact on our society. The invention of particle accelerators in the early 20th century created a whole new world for producing energetic X-rays, electrons, protons, neutrons and other particle beams. Immediately these beams found revolutionary applications in medicine. There are two important yet distinct medical applications. On the one hand, accelerators produce radioisotopes for various nuclear medicines for millions of patients each year, and on the other hand, they also produce particle beams for radiation therapy for the treatment of cancer. The particle beams can be X-rays (generated by high-energy electrons), protons, neutrons or heavy ions such as carbon. Today there are more than 5,000 accelerators routinely used in hospitals all over the world for nuclear medicine and cancer therapy. The great potential of accelerator applications in medicine can hardly be exaggerated. This volume contains 14 articles, all written by distinguished scholars.

Book Synopsis Hourglass Socioeconomics Vol 2: Principle Application THROUGH THE VORTEX by : Blaine Stewart
Download or read book Hourglass Socioeconomics Vol 2: Principle Application THROUGH THE VORTEX written by Blaine Stewart and published by Writers Republic LLC. This book was released on 2021-04-30 with total page 272 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hourglass Socioeconomics Volume 2 is a further adaptation derived from Volume 1 offering principle application adding to deeper fundamental understanding. Going through the vortex from cover to cover hints at "what could be" if "what if" is a true statement within a true or false vacuum plotted somewhere on or in a vector of space. Fluid dynamics was presented briefly in the preceding excerpt but investigated further as it applies to both real and meta data of social structures. In doing so, we jump through the spacetime of prismatic dimensions from one to three and hint at the fourth. To understand the system in place we must understand those a system governs over; ourselves. The vortex of thought within whips together a tornado of analytical, complex, but rational applications already present in today's academic universe. Physics, political science, statistics, philosophy, symbolism, natural biology and other academic studies shape the vortex you are about to step into where stillness is found in the chaos of how to interpret the complexity of the world we live in.

Book Synopsis Long-Term Health Consequences of Exposure to Burn Pits in Iraq and Afghanistan by : Institute of Medicine
Download or read book Long-Term Health Consequences of Exposure to Burn Pits in Iraq and Afghanistan written by Institute of Medicine and published by National Academies Press. This book was released on 2011-10-31 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many veterans returning from the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan have health problems they believe are related to their exposure to the smoke from the burning of waste in open-air "burn pits" on military bases. Particular controversy surrounds the burn pit used to dispose of solid waste at Joint Base Balad in Iraq, which burned up to 200 tons of waste per day in 2007. The Department of Veterans Affairs asked the IOM to form a committee to determine the long-term health effects from exposure to these burn pits. Insufficient evidence prevented the IOM committee from developing firm conclusions. This report, therefore, recommends that, along with more efficient data-gathering methods, a study be conducted that would evaluate the health status of service members from their time of deployment over many years to determine their incidence of chronic diseases.
Book Synopsis The Great Accelerator by : Paul Virilio
Download or read book The Great Accelerator written by Paul Virilio and published by Polity. This book was released on 2012-06-11 with total page 105 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: On 10 September 2008, amid much fanfare, the Great Collider run by CERN in Geneva was turned on. The Collider was supposed to fire protons around a seventeen-mile loop of tunnels, causing them to crash into one another at close to the speed of light and break into even tinier particles. Nine days later the Collider broke down and had to be switched off, the accelerator temporarily silenced, the reckless search for 'God's particle' put on hold. At the same time the speeded-up markets of global finance, with screens of multi-coloured numbers designating the rapid flows of capital, are suddenly thrown into confusion when news spreads that the great Titan of Wall Street, Lehman Brothers, has filed for bankruptcy. Investors panic, share prices plunge and the accelerated markets of global finance seize up. In his latest book, Paul Virilio - the leading theorist of our obsession with technology, speed and power - rewrites 'The Book of Exodus', but the exodus he talks about is no longer conducted in a single file of people headed for some possible Promised Land. It is a closed-circuit exodus within a cramped world, where reduction in human stocks will suddenly look like the only solution to the lockdown of history.
