Download or read book ABUNDANCE, THE ASPIRATION AND HOPE OF ALL MANKIND written by TOMBUH DAVID LATEH and published by Notion Press. This book was released on 2022-02-07 with total page 107 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The writer considers abundance as a concept that injects satisfaction and hope in the minds of all mankind. He is just excited with the expression ‘abundance.' He has immersed himself in the research of this concept. He therefore feels obliged to explain to his readers that the abundance mindset is the source of the abundance in our society. He feels that his duty to mankind calls on him to encourage his readers to acquire the abundance mindset as they seek abundance in wealth, position and influence. The abundance mindset is positive, optimistic, expansive, growth oriented and proactive. It is characterized the humanizing qualities of solidarity, sharing, cooperation, mutuality and human interdependence. Without these values in human hearts, the wealth that society produces no matter how plentiful, is hoarded, used greedily, egoistically and jealously by 'the powerful' in our society, bringing society back to poverty, want and scarcity. Acquiring the abundance mindset makes mankind want to share, care, excise solidarity and cooperation and in this way, abundance is multiplied in our society. The author has expanded on these themes deeply in this text making it useful to all categories of adult readers.
Book Synopsis Leading Beyond Sustainability by : Clive Wilson
Download or read book Leading Beyond Sustainability written by Clive Wilson and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2024-09-27 with total page 173 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The 2020s present a decade of unprecedented disruption. We have now reached a point where people are overwhelmed and numb to the ever-present news of threat after threat, and challenge after challenge. It’s time for leaders to tell a different story of six powerful aspirations – connection, vitality, peace, abundance, opportunity and wisdom. This is a vision "beyond sustainability", to inspire organisations and people to bring the best of who they are into service of the brighter future that is already emerging. Alongside the obvious disruptive challenges of climate change, wars and the pandemic, technology has evolved at a blistering pace. Through technological advances in five sectors – energy, transport, materials, food and manufacturing – we are already transforming the world as we know it. The book seeks to give readers the confidence that there is real hope for a brighter future for our world using these developments and other innovations. The text is supported by inspiring case studies of people and organisations who are already doing amazing things. Crucially, the book highlights the many ways that leaders and organisations can contribute to a better world and encourages dialogue between organisations and people who might not naturally connect. It describes 12 archetypes in organisations that must collaborate in teams to deliver solutions. It also emphasises the need for wise leadership and conscious alignment of everyone to our "brighter future". A manifesto for positive change, this is the perfect book to help turn the UN Sustainable Development Goals into action and to envisage a positive future for leaders at every level in organisations.

Book Synopsis Tragic Humanity and Hope by : Pius Ojara SJ
Download or read book Tragic Humanity and Hope written by Pius Ojara SJ and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2007-09-01 with total page 283 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With insights into the thought of Gabriel Marcel, Tragic Humanity and Hope recognizes that in our age scientific knowing is becoming a dominant form of knowledge. The leadership, influence, growth, and gravitational center of human existence depend, it seems, on scientific knowledge. As a result, we live in an information age that prizes production and immediate satisfaction but devalues the cultivation of wisdom. We risk diminishing the significance of sapiential knowing to deal with the immensely complex and intricate domains of human relationality. Furthermore, inquiry into moral discernment methods expands, becoming more diverse; yet, scholarly conversations that engage the vital exigencies as founding moral sensibility seem noticeably insufficient. Tragic Humanity and Hope strives to overcome this lack. But Ojara also seeks ethical groundings that exceed the language of pragmatic utility and aesthetic preference. Foundations of morality cannot exclude questions of the common good and shared moral obligations that free people to reach out to one another with hopes and memories that endow life with shared meaning. Through continuity and cohesion that the interlacing of scientific, sapiential, and moral knowing bring, life becomes a marvelous expression of light, joy, and fervor.

Or have you ever noticed the gradual illuminations of fresh morning dew laid placid on your neighbor's flowering garden from sometime during your slumber has repaired to catch the eye of the rising sun when its just high enough to reflect a glaring from their reds, their whites, their purples, pinks, and yellows on your walk back home from the bus stop while Preschooler recites them all in Awe? Download or read book Embodied Hope written by Veronice Miles and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2021-12-29 with total page 250 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Embodied Hope explores implications of an embodied theology of hope for preachers' ability to nurture imaginative abundance and purposeful hope-filled action in the most chaotic of times. Embodied hope is grounded in a theological anthropology that foregrounds humanity's inherent identity as imago Dei and capacity to live as a nondistorting nondestructive reflection of God's presence in the earth. The conceptual metaphor embodied Hope represents that which creates within each of us yearning for wholeness and well-being, the always-speaking voice of God's Spirit assuring us of God's power, faithfulness, and redemptive presence and calling us toward loving, just, and restorative action in our world today. Humans possess the capacity to imagine and live toward a qualitatively better state of existence for all creation, but overwhelmed by the despairing realities of life, we often feel despondent and drained of imaginative potential. Preaching amplifies the voice of Hope, bearing witness and inviting us to imagine the possibility and efficacy of a new reality grounded in Jesus's gospel proclamation. Embodied Hope invites us to stand at the intersection of Hope and despair as we explore the contours and possibilities of living with Hope in times such as the present.
