Book excerpt: Tables of integrated absorption coefficients were evaluated for high-temperature air by summation of the contributions from discrete and continuous transitions. The tables were computed for dry air in the temperature range from 1,000 deg K to 12,000 deg K, at equal energy increments of 0.25 ev (2,016.5 cm. to the -1 power), in the wavelength range from 1,167 A to 19,837 A, and for density ratios relative to sea level at each order of magnitude from 10 to .000001.

Book Synopsis Absorption Coefficients of Heated Air: a Compilation to 24,000 K by : D. R. Churchill
Download or read book Absorption Coefficients of Heated Air: a Compilation to 24,000 K written by D. R. Churchill and published by . This book was released on 1965 with total page 116 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An extensive tabulation of absorption coefficients of heated air has been carried out with the aid of several large digital computer programs. These tables supersede the previous ones computed at Lockheed by Meyerott, Sokoloff, and Nicholls in 1959. Tables are presented for temperatures at every 1000 K between 1000 K and 24,000 K and for eight densities between ten times normal atmospheric to 0.000001 times normal. Absorption coefficients are individually listed for each of 14 contributing absorbers. The photon energy range is 0.6-10.7 eV with a partition interval of 0.1 eV. (Author).

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Physics for Diagnostic Radiology, Second Edition is a complete course for radiologists studying for the FRCR part one exam and for physicists and radiographers on specialized graduate courses in diagnostic radiology. It follows the guidelines issued by the European Association of Radiology for training. A comprehensive, compact primer, its analytical approach deals in a logical order with the wide range of imaging techniques available and explains how to use imaging equipment. It includes the background physics necessary to understand the production of digitized images, nuclear medicine, and magnetic resonance imaging.
Book Synopsis Air Monitoring by Spectroscopic Techniques by : Markus W. Sigrist
Download or read book Air Monitoring by Spectroscopic Techniques written by Markus W. Sigrist and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 1994-03-31 with total page 564 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Leading experts discuss the characteristics, advantages, limitations and future aspects of modern spectroscopic techniques for environmental analysis. Demonstrates how these methods can be applied to trace gas detection and assessment. Concentrates on the latest techniques--both laser and non-laser based--which offer advantages for air pollution and gas monitoring as opposed to more conventional methods. Numerous examples of applications illustrate the potential of the techniques backed up by cutting-edge information and representative data.
Book Synopsis Thermal Radiation Phenomena by : Roll K. M. Landshoff
Download or read book Thermal Radiation Phenomena written by Roll K. M. Landshoff and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-11-21 with total page 955 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume is part of a comprehensive review of the thermal radiative properties of air by the Lockheed Palo Alto Research Laboratory for the Defense Atomic Support Agency. The review was published as DASA 1917 (Unclassified) in four parts, April, 1967. Most of this material is now being offered in new editions by Plenum Press. The authors and editors hope that it will be more widely available to scientists and engineers who work in the various fields which require the use of high temperature air properties. F. R. Gilmore and A. Hochstim have revised and increased the material presented in DASA 1917-1 in "Equilibrium Thermodynamic Properties of Air" . The present editors have prepared an introduction for the tables presented in DASA 1917-3 so that "Tables of Radiative Properties of Air" offered herewith is essentially self-contained. A few more figures have been added and a number of errors have been corrected. We have also prepared a slightly revised edition of DASA 1917-4, "Excitation and Non-E"quilibrium Phenomena inAir," offered by Plenum Press at this time as a companion volume. DASA 1917-2, "The Radiative Properties of Heated Air" by B. H. Armstrong and R. W. Nicholls is not being offered in a new edition at this time.
