The dispute with the former originated in his publishing, four years ago, what he denominated The Protestant's Catechism; being an Episcopal Catechism, which, as the author observed in the work, " contains not one word about Almighty God or our Saviour Christ, nor indeed about any doctrinal or practical matter whatever, except that, "those who do not believe the worship of the Church of Rome to be idolatrous, are not Protestants," and that " Popery is not to be tolerated, either in public or in private."!
