Download or read book A Theoretical Investigation of a Traveling Wave Parametric Amplifier written by A. Sörenssen and published by . This book was released on 1961 with total page 1 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A mathematical treatment is given of the wave phenomena in a traveling wave parametric amplifier. The waves are described by two coupled differential equations of the 2nd order. By the elimination of one of the unknowns a 4th order differential equation arises. There are 4 waves of the signal frequency and 4 waves of the idler frequency, in contrast to linear transmission lines, where there are only 2 waves on a single frequency. The influence of the reflected waves on the stability of the amplifier is investigated, and oscillation criteria are given. Some methods to prevent oscillation are suggested. (Author.

Book Synopsis A Strip-form Iterated Traveling Wave Parametric Amplifier Using Series Connected Diodes by : Arthur Dickson Sills
Download or read book A Strip-form Iterated Traveling Wave Parametric Amplifier Using Series Connected Diodes written by Arthur Dickson Sills and published by . This book was released on 1966 with total page 250 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The theoretical investigation includes derivations of expressions for gain and noise figure. Phase conditions necessary for maximum gain (synchronism) are included. Both iterative and distribution amplifiers are analyzed and the expressions for gain, synchronism and noise figure are shown to converge to the same results. For comparison purposes, the shunt connected iterative and distributed amplifiers are also analyzed. Computer programs are written comparing iterative series and shunt amplifiers with respect to gain and noise figure. Results are shown in graphical form over the passband of the amplifiers. (Author).

Book Synopsis CHRISTINE: A Multifrequency Parametric Simulation Code for Traveling Wave Tube Amplifiers by :
Download or read book CHRISTINE: A Multifrequency Parametric Simulation Code for Traveling Wave Tube Amplifiers written by and published by . This book was released on 1997 with total page 39 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A model and computer code are presented that simulate the operation of traveling wave tube amplifiers (TWTs). The model is based on the well known parametric theory in which the relevant properties of the interaction circuit are the phase velocity and coupling impedance of the waves supported by the slow wave structure. The model includes a multifrequency description of both the fields of the structure and the space charge fields. This allows for the study of harmonic and intermodulation distortion. The beam is treated as an ensemble of disks with an effective axial velocity spread. Several options are available for specifying the parameters of the interaction circuit: using a sheath helix description, importing data from another model, or using data from experimental measurement. The advantages of the code are that it can relatively quickly simulate situations in which the amplifier is driven by multiple input frequencies, it is readily portable to different platforms, and it facilitates tube design by enabling users to vary parameters relatively easily.
