Book excerpt: Owners of estates and titles in the peerages of England, Scotland and Ireland were more, rather than less, likely than ordinary people to experience dramatic and gruesome deaths and certainly more likely to have them recorded. This study, drawing on the pages of 'The Complete Peerage', describes some 7,000 such deaths, revealing when, where and how they occurred and how they were commemorated. In the Middle Ages, war, execution, imprisonment, plague, poison and sheer misfortune brought an end to many noble lives. In the sixteenth century wars, executions and murders continued to take their toll alongside 'affrays' or 'skirmishes' so often blamed for deaths in Scotland and Ireland; and ill-health in amazing variety. Wars at home, at sea and abroad were fatal for many in the seventeenth century, wars overseas in the eighteenth, but by then death from too much food or drink was much more common and death in fashionable mansions in London's west end more usual than in ancestral castles. In the nineteenth century came deaths in remarkable places, sometimes very suspicious.

That is your choice to make, said the Road. But what if I go the wrong way? The Road curved a little, almost as if it was giving me a hug, and said, Do not worry. Sometimes we go the wrong way on our way to the right way. It's okay to be afraid or to sometimes wander down the wrong path. Bestselling poet and activist Cleo Wade's What the Road Said features illustrations by Lucie de Moyencourt and encourages us to lead with kindness and curiosity, remembering that the most important thing we can do in life is to keep going.

Book Synopsis Eternal Companions by : Arthur Winarczyk
Download or read book Eternal Companions written by Arthur Winarczyk and published by Arthur Winarczyk. This book was released on 2021-05-24 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Beyond religion and enlightenment a dimension of life. Those with an interest in Buddhism or Islam or Judaism or Christianity, may find a Life in the Spirit. Beyond lay alien realms of life. Climbing higher, insights into heavens and the Dimension of Eternal Life – the incomprehensible God. But there is a problem. The Holocaust has wiped out Jewish Life in the Spirit and damaged others. One man is taught how to repair. In the man’s mind a diamond around his heart and a golden chain. Later it becomes clear that is a calling from the spirit. To such the spirit explains what he needs to understand. A more complex challenge presents itself: an eternal companion. As to what she is, however, is a mystery. The Dimension of Eternal Life is sensed, seen in the mind, and interactions in his eternity become possible. Can mortals gain insights into eternal life? A tale of eternal companions, Eternity, and how it comes together. To discern sense, which is not true telepathy, between any two people is hard enough. To do so with an alien source ever so hard. Mark’s eternal companion is a heavenly being, not a soul in the spirit. She needs two ‘bodies’, Helen but mostly Lisa, to assist her preparing Mark to understand he has been born into eternity already and she is his eternal companion - a soul mate. Kim also desires to experience human life in a simulated environment, in Life in the Spirit which can be an image of life in the real world. Some chapters go into the past and explain the effort of repairing Life in the Spirit over 40 years in the 'wilderness' (confusion).
