Book Synopsis Teorizando en educación: entre erudición, poesía y opinionitis by : Enric Prats
Download or read book Teorizando en educación: entre erudición, poesía y opinionitis written by Enric Prats and published by Editorial UOC. This book was released on 2016-06-30 with total page 166 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Book Synopsis Principles and Practices of Christian Education by : Robert W. Pazmino
Download or read book Principles and Practices of Christian Education written by Robert W. Pazmino and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2002-04-29 with total page 183 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Principles and Practices of Christian Education shows teachers how they can use two important principles that stand behind all evangelical practices to make their education program stand out from all the others in its nurture of students. First, evangelical Christian education recognizes the need for conversion-personal and corporate transformation that reconnects people to their Creator. Second, evangelical Christian education strives for connection-making contact with people as unique individuals who live in a particular society and who need to know more about scripture. In this book Christian education students learn that the work for which they prepare is a partnership with God to transform people. Their central task is worship, but through it and other activities they lead others to faith, commitment, and transformation of communities.

This book was released on 2024-02-26 with total page 334 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In modern education, students and teaching methodologies face many challenges that hinder smooth development. The digital age presents students with information overload, impeding the cultivation of their critical thinking skills. Traditional language teaching methods must be revised to prepare students for the intricacies of a globalized, multilingual world. The rise in academic demands contributes to heightened stress levels among students. Despite the urgency of environmental challenges, educational systems need a cohesive focus on eco-conscious practices. The abrupt transition to virtual learning during crises has exposed challenges in adapting to and fully realizing the potential of virtual environments. These interrelated issues underscore the imperative for a comprehensive solution that aligns pedagogical practices with the demands of contemporary society. Educational Innovation to Address Complex Societal Challenges begins by dissecting pedagogical renewal and educational innovation, illustrating their expansive reach and adaptability in addressing the diverse educational challenges of our time. It emphasizes that these innovative elements extend beyond mere educational enhancements, presenting many opportunities to catalyze substantial societal change. A crucial aspect highlighted is the reciprocal relationship between educational practices and social reality, creating a symbiotic circle that adds meaning to the educational process.

Book excerpt: The global networking promoted by technology, globalization and migration that are occurring at a large scale, requires school systems that develop in the students new types of skills, based on the ability to understand the world and its problems and instill a sense of responsibility and cooperation to enhance the resolution of the great problems of mankind. Rethinking education is essential in a global, transcultural, changing and communicated world. The authors are professors of different scientific disciplines and different faiths, cultures and points of view, living the realities described in the chapters and thinking from these realities how to improve and how should be the education in a global, challenging and ever-changing world. We stress the importance of this book and its implications in the education of children and youth and in the preparation of teachers. For this reason, this is a book designed for teachers of primary and secondary schools, parents, principals, supervisors, university teachers who prepare school teachers, university students and those who want to know and think about education in a global and intercultural world and new forms of communication to face learning, whether at local or at world level. The mission of all is continue building education, and to facilitate this work in this book are presented contributions and recommendations of professionals around the world that will allow the reader to know, analyze, understand and appreciate the importance of education to prepare students to function with open and critical thinking in a global world. Book Synopsis Cuestiones Fundamentales de la Educación Cristiana by : Robert W. Pazmiño
Download or read book Cuestiones Fundamentales de la Educación Cristiana written by Robert W. Pazmiño and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2002-07-31 with total page 280 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Book Synopsis Adult Education in Communities by : Emilio Lucio-Villegas
Download or read book Adult Education in Communities written by Emilio Lucio-Villegas and published by Springer. This book was released on 2015-06-25 with total page 150 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Participation can be a double-edged sword in that it can be used to bind people into agendas and policies they have little control over or it can help enable them to give voice to real and significant issues. Drawing on the work of Raymond Williams, genuine participation has to be an open and democratic process which enables all to contribute to the creation of meanings. Adult education in communities can then be involved in the process of creating ‘really useful knowledge’, that is, knowledge which enables people – individuals and collectivities who experience systematic forms of oppression, domination and exploitation – to think about, analyse and act on their situation individually and severally. By drawing on contemporary accounts of emancipatory action and participatory research the author elaborates on the role of adult educators in this context. (From the Preface) This book tries to reflect on adult education and its close relationships with communities. It is a modest attempt to maintain adult education in the scope of the community life against the growing schooling, the focus on employability, and on the labour market. In the last years it seems that adult education has become a kind of provider of diplomas, skills and competences and has forgotten its role to enlighten individuals and help them to share their community life with an abundance of richness, diversity, sadness and happiness. Adult Education is intrinsically connected to daily life, and the life that individuals constantly edify in their interactions. If adult education is connected to daily life, one of the major tasks is to recover this feeling and to link daily life and education. I think that at present time, in a moment of intense reductionism, reality is usually presented as very plain, losing its complexity and diversity that are related to the fact that life is being lived everyday by men and women as creators and relational beings.

Book Synopsis Audacious Education Purposes by : Fernando M. Reimers
Download or read book Audacious Education Purposes written by Fernando M. Reimers and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-04-23 with total page 256 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This open access book offers a comparative study of eight ambitious national reforms that sought to create opportunities for students to gain the necessary breath of skills to thrive in a rapidly changing world. It examines how national governments transform education systems to provide students opportunities to develop such skills. It analyses comprehensive education reforms in Brazil, Finland, Japan, Mexico, Peru, Poland, Portugal and Russia and yields original and important insights on the process of educational change. The analysis of these 21st century skills reforms shows that reformers followed approaches which are based on the five perspectives: cultural, psychological, professional, institutional and political. Most reforms relied on institutional and political perspectives. They highlight the systemic nature of the process of educational change, and the need for alignment and coherence among the various elements of the system in order. They underscore the importance of addressing the interests of various stakeholders of the education system in obtaining the necessary impetus to initiate and sustain change. In contrast, as the book shows, the use of a cultural and psychological frame proved rarer, missing important opportunities to draw on systematic analysis of emerging demands for schools and on cognitive science to inform the changes in the organization of instruction. Drawing on a rich array of sources and evidence the book provides a careful account of how education reform works in practice.
