The breed was first used in the mountains of Kerry, in Ireland, hence the breed's name - the Kerry Blue Terrier is actually the national dog of Ireland. The Kerry Blue Terrier is known to have a long head with a flat skull, a deep chest, and a soft wavy-to-curly coat. The Kerry Blue Terrier's most unique feature is its coat. The breed has no undercoat and its coat has a texture similar to human hair or fine wool.
