I wrote both plays with the intention of demonstrating my songwriting, poetry, and artistic skills. I have learned that even though I have cerebral palsy, there is no end to what I can do. In other words, I never limit myself because I have a physical challenge. I have been blessed with the ability to use my hands and mind to create and inspire. Writing these songs took focus and dedication. I was able to bring some of the characters to life by adding poetry because it shows his or her emotions. I believe everyone has been endowed by God with distinctive characteristics, gifts, and talents in order that he or she may fulfill his or her God-given purpose in life. I enjoy developing my talents. Hopefully, through my hard work and efforts, I will inspire others to pursue his or her dreams. I exercise and keep myself fit. I have always wanted to stand straight and tall on my own, and miraculously, the other day I did. I have a bachelors degree in Creative Writing and a masters degree in English Literature (East Carolina Alumni Class of 2008, Greenville, North Carolina). I continue to strive and keep myself informed of world changes. I also find that it is gratifying to be able to share a talent or a skill with others. My areas of expertise include writing and proofreading. Genres I typically work with include poetry, short stories, fiction, nonfiction, and newsletters. Im the author and editor of the play Blackberry Molasses.

Download or read book Blessings in Disguise written by Mani Jack and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2018-12-12 with total page 114 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Before this, I always wondered why God made me walk on those difficult roads as every challenge almost tore my life and my family apart. I thought I was unlucky. As time went by, I was glad that I was given a valuable opportunity to taste all of those bittersweet experiences because they made me emotionally and spiritually strong and wiser. I believe that one of the main reasons why God made me experience all of those thorny paths is because perhaps God wants me to share those life lessons with others in order to help them not to give up when life challenges them to the maximum. I hope this book will motivate the readers and give them enough light and hope to believe that every obstacle is indeed a blessing in disguise if we are willing to kneel and and learn because life itself is a novel in which you are its best writer.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Unique among books about the Wiccan Sabbats, Celebrating the Seasons of Life: Samhain to Ostara takes a different approach to explaining the holidays by taking an in-depth look at half of the Wheel of the Year. Rather than dissecting each holiday, Ashleen's goal is to take a broader look at them, explaining how and why we celebrate each, along with how the celebration of one leads to the next. The first of two new titles from Ashleen offers a vision of the holidays we celebrate from October to March. This book covers each holiday by first giving us its history and original customs, then explaining its place in modern life. Stories are shared for each Sabbat to reconnect us with our lore and bring new meaning to current practice. Ashleen includes ideas for rituals that are ideal for practicing solitaries, covens, or Wiccan families, with special sections on what children of various ages are ready to learn about these holidays.

Download or read book Double Blessing written by Mark Batterson and published by Multnomah. This book was released on 2019-10-15 with total page 258 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: God doesn't bless us to raise our standard of living. God blesses us to raise our standard of giving, and that's where true joy is found. The New York Times bestselling author of Chase the Lion challenges us not to settle for half of what God offers when it comes to blessings—we are BLESSED to BLESS. His discovery started with a simple experiment. Whenever Batterson received a blessing, he would give a similar blessing away. If someone paid him a compliment or gave him a gift or went out of their way to help him, he would return the favor by doing something similar for someone else. We flip the blessing by blessing others in the way God has blessed us. That’s how the blessing becomes a double blessing. It turns giving into a game—one we can’t win because God will always outgive us! It’s an ancient truth found within the Abrahamic covenant: “I will bless you . . . and you will be a blessing.” In other words, we are blessed to bless. The first blessing is receiving, but it doesn’t end there. The second blessing is giving it away! That’s the double blessing. And that’s where double joy is found. In a day and age where the idea of blessing has been reduced to a hashtag (#blessed), Batterson challenges readers to pursue true, God-glorifying blessing and experience an exponential impact by participating in the double blessing. Don’t settle for half of what God offers. Discover how you can both get it and give it . . . in Double Blessing.

Download or read book Girls with Swords written by Lisa Bevere and published by WaterBrook. This book was released on 2014-02-18 with total page 242 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A passionate call for Christian women to effectively "wield the sword" of their God-given feminine strength against any evil that threatens them and those they love. What if you discovered you have been entrusted with an invisible, invincible, and incorruptible weapon? Would you use it? In a day of worldwide trafficking, gendercide, discrimination, and other hostility against women, Lisa Bevere points to a biblical foundation to present a model of feminine strength that will empower women to live confidently. Drawing on the many references to swords throughout Scripture, the author constructs a revealing and compelling female paradigm that will impact every area of a woman's self identity, spiritual awareness, relationships, and life vision and mission. Long known for her passionate and articulate expression of biblical womanhood, Bevere presents fresh imagery--as enticing and strong as polished steel--to prepare women boldly for the challenges they face in today's world. It's not enough to just be wise and strong: Now a woman must know how to wield her sword. Creatively forging the imagery of swords, the Word of God, and the Cross, Girls with Swords will teach you: • How to speak the language of heaven on earth • What it means to intercede • What it means to carry your cross • What it means to be discerning • How to disarm the enemy • Why women are the enemy’s target—and why God needs them to be heroes It’s time to take up your sword and be a hero.

Download or read book A Blessing in Disguise written by Nathan Simmons and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2003-10-22 with total page 149 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Blessing In Disguise is the story of a man which contain a message. The story is necessary to show how ordinary a man can be from the start of life, how only the here and now is important. Once his ego surface, not only the here and now are important, but the past and the future becomes essential. The conclusion that ones history is only about four hundred years old leaves him without a foundation, and we only search our past for direction into the future. A four hundred year old past bring the future to an haw. A void appears, the search ends, the ego is deflated, the man is incomplete, an endangered species. The message I received was short and to the point, If you want to know something , read The Bible. The Word, told a story about the history of mankind from the beginning, I only needed to know which man would represent my history, and the choice of the three was not minds. The message was truly a blessing, but one not only for me. I was born again, not only had I discovered a past not known to me but I also discovered a future to one day be granted. To understand who I have become you too must read and study The Word. Until the world acknowledge and accept who I Am, there will be no blessings, no harmony, no peace. We must put a stop to hiding The Word of God before there is nothing left but The Word.
