Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There is hardly a violinist who has not dealt with some or even all 42 'Kreutzer etudes' sometime or other: Études ou caprices form part of the standard repertoire. Rodolphe Kreutzer (1766-1831) has not least remained unforgotten because of Beethoven's violin sonata of the same name - a work which had never been played by the violin virtuoso himself and not even been appreciated by him. His lightning career as a violinist led him into Napoleon's private orchestra and as a virtuoso across Europe before an accident put an end to his solo career. As a violin teacher, he taught in private aristocratic circles, then at the later Conservatoire and laid the foundations for a comprehensive methodology and didactics. For his teaching activities, Kreutzer wrote his 40 Études ou caprices (two were later added by another) in 1796. The present urtext edition is based on the first edition and contains the original, occasionally surprisingly different musical text with the original fingering, with a 'modern' setting being added. Even if Henryk Wieniawski once admitted: 'They are much more difficult than most violinists think', these studies form an indispensable part of all violin studies.

Book excerpt: The 42 études have remained a core part of the teaching repertoire since their publication, and are today perhaps the most common set of studies for intermediate and advanced students of the violin. They were written to demonstrate the possibilities of the Tourte bow, which was then innovative but has since been universally adopted, meaning Kreutzer's studies are highly applicable to the development of modern bowing technique. Another of Kreutzer's important didactic goals was developing fluency in contraction and extension of the left hand, which is also crucial to modern students of the violin. This edition is based on the 1894 Schirmer Inc. edition (Volume 230).Enquire at www.cbypublishing.cf for bulk orders for schools etc.

Dr. Suzuki recommends that first position etudes be started when the student is working on Volume 2. The student should always be careful that fingers are placed before the bow moves. Dr. Suzuki repeatedly says, "One, fingers -- two, bow -- three, start." Since this is the first time the student plays an etude, the teacher needs to explain its purpose.

This book was released on 2022-05-19 with total page 45 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Fate was not always kind to him and yet Bériot contributed significantly in many different fields. Today his works are mainly used in education, and are often treated as a stepping stone to approach the "greater" works of romantic literature for violin. It is quite interesting to consider, though, that Bériot was able to arouse the enthusiasm of the audience on his tours throughout Europe performing almost entirely his own compositions, among them many of dimensions "not quite so small". The originality and freshness of the composition will surely entice any artist technically skilled enough to handle performing the difficult passages of the "Studi Capricci" on stage.
Book Synopsis Quint Etudes (Revised) by : Shinichi Suzuki
Download or read book Quint Etudes (Revised) written by Shinichi Suzuki and published by Alfred Music. This book was released on 1995-11-16 with total page 50 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Students learn to listen to sound more carefully. Although almost everybody plays with beautiful tone while tuning the violin, many press the bow and make a terrible sound when they start playing, especially double stops. The first exercises in this book are to practice playing the double stops with beautiful tone while listening to the resonance. There are exercises to shift the fingers between the G string and the E string, moving upward and downward in fifths. There are also many exercises to practice listening to the resonance of open strings.
