Download or read book Hunting and Harvest Trends for Migratory Game Birds Other Than Waterfowl, 1964-76 written by Elwood Martin and published by . This book was released on 1979 with total page 44 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hunting activity and harvest estimates for 10 species or groups of migratory game birds other than waterfowl, based on data collected for 13 seasons (1964-76) in the Annual Questionnaire Survey of U.S. Waterfowl Hunters, are presented. A number of long-term trends were noted. High correlations obtained between certain results in the survey and the results of independent surveys are discussed. The inescapable conclusion is that, although this survey of waterfowl hunters provides valuable data on the subject, a better sampling frame (or frames) for measuring the activity and success of all hunters of migratory game birds other than waterfowl is needed to meet the high standards now being set for the management of this valuable resource.

Book Synopsis Neglected Architectural Decoration from the Late Antique City by : Solinda Kamani
Download or read book Neglected Architectural Decoration from the Late Antique City written by Solinda Kamani and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2023-10-20 with total page 302 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book examines neglected architectural decoration from the late antique city of the East Mediterranean. It addresses the omission in scholarship of discussion about the embellishment of non-monumental secular buildings (public porticoes, small public baths, shops/workshops, and non-elite houses). The finishing of these structures has been overlooked at the expense of more lofty buildings and remains one of the least known aspects of the late antique city. The author surveys the archaeological evidence for decoration in the region, with the maritime sites of Ostia and Ephesus selected as case studies. Drawing upon archaeological, written, and visual sources, it attempts to reconstruct how such buildings appeared to late antique viewers and investigates why they were decorated as they were.

Book Synopsis The School Law Handbook by : William C. Bosher Jr.
Download or read book The School Law Handbook written by William C. Bosher Jr. and published by ASCD. This book was released on 2004-03-15 with total page 225 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A parent objects to a curriculum that includes a unit on Greek gods, arguing that it violates the separation of church and state. As a teacher or administrator, how should you respond? This type of issue is one most educators will have to confront eventually, in addition to other hot-button issues such as zero-tolerance policies, drug and alcohol testing, and prayer in schools. The School Law Handbook is designed to enable educators to confront such issues with information, insight, and initiative. The issues are organized into five areas: the school environment, Constitutional issues, students, personnel, and accountability. Within each area are several chapters, each beginning with a realistic scenario followed by legal and practical analyses of the situation. Armed with this knowledge of the parameters governing each scenario, educators can more effectively manage their responses, asking and answering the key questions: - What are the legal boundaries? - What is the district policy related to this issue? - What are the potential strategies for resolution? In this era of unparalleled public scrutiny, The School Law Handbook is essential reading for all school personnel. Note: This product listing is for the Adobe Acrobat (PDF) version of the book.
